[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked up the Insta360 X3 after going back and forth between this and a GoPro for months, and I'm so glad I went with the X3. The 360° footage is insanely fun to work with — you shoot everything and choose your angle in editing, which means you basically never miss a shot. The invisible selfie stick effect still blows my mind every time.

The new 2.5” front touchscreen is a huge upgrade. I use this mostly for solo trips and being able to actually see myself in frame is a game changer. No more awkward guessing shots.

Video quality at 5.7K is sharp and detailed. Stabilization is buttery smooth — I've used it mountain biking, kayaking, and on ski slopes and the footage looks almost gimbal-level stable. It's waterproof to 10 metres right out of the box too, no housing needed.

A few honest gripes: Battery life is around 70–75 minutes with heavy use, so bring a spare (or two). The Insta360 app is good but editing 360° footage on a phone can get laggy with longer clips. Desktop app is much better for serious edits.

Bottom line: If you want creative, cinematic shots without needing a second person to film you, this is the camera. Worth every penny.

I was planning to buy a go pro cam but when i saw the insta360 and the price i had to go with it and do not regret it. The camera has so many features that i am still learning and i have made some amazing videos under water, ATV riding in the mudd, the beach and pool etc ...

Its just like Google Earth. Great videos and pic. Terrible battery life and ease of use of control. I am still in my learning curve on this X3 older cam.  
Than W-M lowered the price of the X4 about 5 days after i receved my X3. Thats my luck.

Good and bad.

Overheats easily and then shuts down making it unreliable, difficult to edit as you need to use the app on your phone, cumbersome menu and navigation. Computer editing software is very limited compared to the app. Who wants to edit videos on a tiny phone screen? They do offer s plug in for Adobe premier only. Everyone is using DaVinci resolve now, for which there is no plug in.

Unreliable, poor software, returned it.

I bought the Insta360 camera, and unfortunately, it came with problems. From the very first use, it keeps freezing and corrupting all the videos I try to record. When it freezes , none of the buttons work — I can’t turn it off or do anything until it powers down by itself after the bug. I’ve tried multiple times, and it happens every time. The camera simply doesn’t work properly. I’m very disappointed with this purchase and the overall experience.
