I purchased this laptop to use in creating stained glass mosaics and sun catcher patterns.  It is much faster than I expected and is actually a nice laptop overall.  I am very pleased with this purchase!

Much better than expected

This computer is super easy to use, right out of the box. It is very fast and has a sweet keyboard. If the touch pad feels awkward, it is easy to install a wireless mouse.

Great computer, great price!

My HP laptop arrived a few days earlier then promised. Easy to set up and update OS to Windows 11. Easy to set up wifi. Computer boots up very fast. I am very happy with my new HP laptop.

Great price and fast delivery!

I had sworn off Windows machines having bought a cheap Lenovo computer that was so slow to boot  it was essentially useless.  Like 20 minutes.  I added more memory (cost as much as the computer) and still terrible.  So I bought an old MacBook along with my iMAC and swore off Windows.  I recycled the old one.

I got a job with DoD that requires a Windows-based machine.  They will eventually give me one, but I wanted to start right away.  Thus this computer which I needed right now.  A pleasant surprise. It boots pretty darn fast.  It has Win11 and with the solid state drives really seems to just work.  Apple-like.  And hats off to Sam's because I ordered it in the afternoon and they brought to to my car at 7am the next day. 

The downside: I'm not crazy about the silver keyboard with black letters.  When backlite it is white on silver and I can't see them.  I am a touch typist so no big problem.  If you are hunt and peck...I don't know.

HP is almost Mac-like

Love the computer...large screen and easiest setup I have ever done between my old computer and new computer.  Only thing I struggle with is knowing if the number lock is on or off...There is not indication or light that you can tell.   Starts up in like 30 seconds...my old computer would literally take 20 minutes to get online.

Good Computer for the Money

So far, so good.  Boots up quickly, the backlit keyboard is easy to see without being too bright, and the touchpad can be deactivated automatically whenever a mouse is plugged in.  I love the 17-inch screen, although I miss having a touchscreen.  But for the price, it was an okay sacrifice.  I was also pleased that it has an ethernet port for a hardwired connection...that's getting hard to find these days.  Makes for much faster uploading/downloading.  The only 2 issues I've had are:  one day, I unplugged to go sit outside and had no internet connection.  When I went to check the wi-fi setup, it did not show that there was any wi-fi adapter in the machine.  It just wasn't an option.  I knew there was, as I'd used it wirelessly before.  I had my husband look and found the same thing.  I ended up rebooting, and then it showed up, no problem.  Weird that this would happen randomly.  The other issue is that there is either an issue with the charging port itself or the charger.  When I plug it in, it doesn't start charging unless I play with spinning it.  It has to bet setting in there just right.  The slightest shifting of the computer, and it can stop charging, and I don't always notice it.  It's pretty annoying.  It's been this way right out of the box.  I've only had it for a couple of weeks.  I really would rather have bought any other brand of computer besides HP.  My last 2 HP computers were a nightmare.  One had 5 new hard drives in as many months, starting with less than 30 days out of the box.  It spent more time in transit than working.  It was being used for homeschooling, and I lost my files every time. Horrible customer service. There was clearly some other underlying issue that kept causing the hard drive to fail.  It would literally fail the day it came back in the mail.  I finally gave up and wrote it off as a loss and went with Dell.  Shortly thereafter, my other HP had the same thing happen.  I swore I'd never buy another HP, but when the Dell finally died, I realized prices had soared due to the chip shortage, and I just didn't have a choice...HP was the most affordable for the features I needed.  I got this one because of the 2 year Care Pack coverage included at Sam's Club.

So far, so good.

Good laptop but not for me. The resolution is low and the white background is very stressful on the eyes. Every time I looked at it my eyes would water. Microsoft has deleted lots of settings for adjustments on fonts size Etc. It's a very painful white background for energy power saving so if you have any kind of eyesight issue it could be a problem. Gave it to my husband and bought a different brand.

Good for the money

Very fast compared to the computer it replaced. The power button is kind of hard to operate, and sometimes it has to be held down for what seems like a long time before the computer will turn on.

Very Fast Operation

This laptop replaced another similar HP laptop that the screen hinge failed. After closer inspection of the new HP laptop it looks like the exact same case minus the read/write CD. I have some concerns about longevity of the case.   On the plus side it has a solid state hard drive and a lighted keyboard.   

The reason for the 3 stars is the quality of the case.

Time will tell

Returned the computer within a week.  Browser and connection to my internet accounts was slower than the computer I currently own which is slower than my last dial up account.  I tried to down loan Chrome and after 15 hours I finally got a message that the contact was lost and the down load stopped. Since the computer has no programs included and without a DVD drive the only way to add programs to the computer is by down load and when the computer will not even open my on-line emails  it was just a very expensive paper weight.
