About this item

Product details

When the firefly is ready for bed, who will light up the sky instead? This storybook and flashlight set features beloved Eric Carle illustrations, 5 pop-ups, and instructions for making 3 different hand shadows. Cast your light to see what animal friends you'll find in the night, and press 5 sound buttons to bring the story to life. This multi-sensory interactive reading experience will engage and delight young readers at storytime and bedtime.
Each book includes a detachable flashlight module, five sound buttons on each flashlight, and foil accents on each spread. An elastic band holds flashlight module in die-cut when not in use and for easy storage to find for next reading and play time. Three replaceable 357/AG13/LR44 button cell batteries included.
Eric Carle illustrated more than seventy books with some becoming all-time children's best sellers. More than 150 million copies of Eric Carle's books have been sold worldwide, including his all-time best seller 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' which was written in 1969. That iconic book has been translated to more than sixty-five languages. His career as a children's illustrator didn't start until he was nearly 40 years old, and the children's book author took off after he collaborated on 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See'. The caterpillar origin was well, not actually his first character idea for his books. Rather, the idea began started as a bookworm named Willi, and his editor suggested a caterpillar. Of his seventy books, he wrote most of them all by himself!
