The sizing was a little confusing but we ordered the small (7/8) for our average height, skinny 9 year old boy and it fit perfectly and should last the next entire year as there is room to grow.  Large (10/12) would have been way too large. Feels like other Eddie Bauer down jackets we have. I can't tell it's a down and feather mix. Great price for a down jacket. Will use for Colorado front range winter (not for skiing except as an under layer for a hard shell).

I feel like this coat is definitely on the thin side so I’ll need to layer it in the winter or buy something thicker. For the price I think this is great for your money. I like that it has a name and phone number. Insert where if he loses his coat, it can easily be returned back to me. The pockets are really big and the zipper glides with ease. Highly recommend!

Down filling will keep him warm and I love that it repels water. Comfortable and lightweight, my son can’t wait to wear it for the winter.

It is lightweight and a perfect jacket for the fall months. The color is a bright blue that makes it stand out amongst other jackets, in a good way. I received a size small (6/7) and it still fits my 9 year old, who usually wears a size 8. He loves it.

We have been using it for the chilly fall days so far and its perfect. I like the style of this jacket, however as far as durability I am not sure how well it would hold up if it was snagged on something. I would recommend to this jacket to my friends.

It will be extra cute with a hoodie underneath. The black is versatile, and will match up with nearly anything. It would easily fold up to stick in my little guy’s backpack for those days where you’re just not sure if they’ll need a coat or not. Timeless style and Eddie B is always durable and reliable. An extra convenient feature is the sewn in “contact” tag. Leave it on the playground or at school? No problem. Totally identifiable. Love the jacket, and would definitely recommend.

Perfect for the “In-between” days

It gives just enough warmth to layer with a lighter jacket underneath without being too much. It's soft and cushions with my sons every move and it provides protection from chilly air and temperatures. I love how it looks and fits. I honestly can't say enough about how nice this jacket is!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great THIN puffer jacket. It’s hard to find a warm jacket that doesn’t make you look like a big ball. This one is thin and easy zip on and off for my little guy. It did seem a little small so that’s why I deducted a star. Don’t think it’s TTS. All in all it’s 650 for cold weather so can’t wait to test it out in Chicago winters.

Can it be too good to be true?!?

We purchased the royal blue and black Eddie Bauer packable jacket for our 9 year son in a size large. He loves the warmth, fit, and comfort of the jacket. He can layer the jacket with a hoodie pullover and also pack away his jacket in a backpack while at school. We haven't washed the jackets and I can't rate the full quality after washing. As of now, both jackets are holding up well.

I washed the jacket according to the instructions on the tag. The fill in the jacket does not stay in place and turns into chunks. Even with using the fluff setting on the dryer, the fill does not fluff back up. It's just chunks and the coat is useless now.
