Tim Burton's "Nightmare Before Christmas" has a great story about how his original story was created. He began sketching designs for a poem as the same commonly used title from Clement C. Moore's "A Visit From St. Nicholas", which was originally published in 1832, which recounted the magic of Santa Claus. However, Tim Burton's version has Jack Skellington hailing from a place called Halloween Town, and who ends up bungling the delivery of all the Christmas presents. Tim Burton's version depicts the character as a gaunt, yet elegant skeleton, in which he repeatedly worked and reworked in his spare time, to make the needed tweaks for this somewhat-twisted version of the original Santa Claus. And, Tim Burton's lifelong love of both Christmas and Halloween holidays often seemed to merge into his own celebrations.
