Love the size of this new Magnifica S. It’s about ¼ - ⅓ smaller than its predecessor, leaving more space above and around the machine if you wish to store and operate it under the upper cabinets. Yes the milk container is smaller too but we have found in a household of two we rarely need to completely fill and use a full milk container (would use though during parties). Besides we don’t waste as much milk if it goes bad. I much prefer this size over the old size. We’ve owned two other DiLonghis and each lasted about six years before something regarding the milk pump began to malfunction, despite meticulous maintenance. Since we live in a rural area and still need good coffee every day, we just eat the cost of $100-200 per year to run the machine. Not too bad overall.

More Compact Than Previous Magnifica!

I had the older version of this for 7 years until it finally died. It payed for itself 10 times over, we drink a lot of coffee. I purchased this a couple weeks ago and it works as well as my last delonghi but is much quieter. Love this product, makes an amazing cup of coffee.

Great latte/cappuccino

This is our second Delonghi Magnifica.  Old one was 10 years and showing signs of nearing replacement.  We have been more than happy with this replacement.  It is somewhat quieter and easier to operate.

Great machine!

This fully automatic machine makes cappuccino, espresso and coffee with the press of a single button. Lattes and half whites take just two presses. The quality of the steamed milk is great and the drinks are superb. I’m happy to no longer use pods (which are unrecyclable) and instead enjoy the taste of freshly ground beans. The machine is easy to clean - just follow the directions and recommendations. It’s a solidly constructed machine. I’m thrilled with it!

This is the second Magnifica I have purchased and this machine is even better than the first.  It has lots of options to change the strength of coffee and how much milk you put in your drink.  It even makes a flat white! The bonus is you can set the machine to turn on and heat up your cup on the warmer before you wake up!

I bought slightly earlier version of this model from SamsClub (during Christmas Sale) at a very attractive price.  Have been using it for nearly 5 years and I must say that going to Starbucks is a step down!!!

This machine is highly reliable and beautifully built.  I live alone and average 3-4 cappuccinos per day and slightly more on weekends.  Not one problem since the day i bought and installed it!  

I notice that the model is called Magnifica but what I bought was called Perfecta and from these pictures and description, they seem to have very similar functionality.  

It is priced higher now but as with everything else in life, . . . . . 

This machine has boosted my Quality of Life and any of guests that come to visit me.  I highly recommend this machine.  Please take care of it by keeping it clean (I clean it weekly) and  descale it when the machine instructs.  Also, I use filtered water for the most part but it wont blow up if you used regular tap water (I live in semi-urban NC and the water quality ain't that bad here in these areas).  

BTW, I also own a DeLonghi room air-conditioner and these machines are built to last!  

Finally, I am not paid by anybody to write this review and I don't write reviews that often but this machine has proven itself over and over again.  Get one if you love coffee and if you can afford it.  Cheers!

Been using it for over 5 years

I love this machine.  Had bought a Jura E6 right after Christmas, as I was told the Jura brand was the cadillac of cappuccino machines.  Was very disappointed with lukewarm temperature and returned it within 30 days.  Hesitated to purchase this machine, but I went for the purchase since it qualified for Sam's satisfaction guaranteed policy.  This expresso maker is the best!  Great tasting coffee and good temperature.  Very happy!

Really Happy

Machine is ok, initial set up requires some reading (not ready out of the box) and coffee is ok. Machine cleans up (dumps water) everytime it starts and when you shut down (maybe about 3 spoonfuls) for each cycle. water tank is rather small so if you drink a couple of cups daily, you’ll need to refill the tank every other day. The machine gets the job done. It is not crappy, but it is no barista quality, just sort of average.

Middle of the road machine

We wanted so much to love this espresso machine but we couldn’t get a really hot cup of espresso from it. Our kurig makes a hotter cup of Joe. We called Delonghi, who were very helpful, to confirm our settings, and still couldn’t get it hotter. Regretfully we had to return this machine.
