This wine’s tannins mark the finish, as touches of vanilla and toasted oak are nestled in a fine, gritty texture&nbsp;</li> </ul> <h3>About Caymus&nbsp;</h3> Caymus Vineyards is located in the center of the Napa Valley. Primary production is Cabernet Sauvignon grown on low-fertility soils on both the valley floor and the mountains that surround the valley. Attention to viticulture details, some dry farming, high-density plantings (with some blocks spaced as close as meter x meter), thinning of the yield, along with healthy vines and harvesting at an elevated degree of ripeness – all of these elements produce a unique and singular style of Cabernet. The name Caymus comes from the Mexican land grant known as Rancho Caymus, given to George Yount in 1836. This land ultimately became the town of Rutherford and much of the surrounding area that is used to make the Caymus wine now. Chuck Wagner and his late parents, Lorna, and Charlie Sr., opened Caymus Vineyards in 1972, starting off with 240 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon. Today Caymus produces 65,000 cases and farming grapes remains the priority with the family farming about 350 acres of choice Napa Valley land. Caymus is still 100% family-owned and run, as the next generation takes on the responsibility of this farming and winemaking operation.

I bought this for my husband for our Anniversary Dinner. He loved it! Said it was one of the best wines he has ever had. Highly recommend.

Great wine for a great price!

Don't listen to all the reviewers think that this wine is just a crowd pleaser!  To me.. this is a very smooth, velvety wine that thinly coat the mouth with clean flavors that goes well with mildly flavored light dishes.

Trust your own palate

This wine was “Not” found in store @ The Oak Cliff Wheatland Road location. I ordered it online from the Greater Southwest location in Grand Prairie. The delivery guy told me they passed it to him from the door of that location. This is a pricey wine with a soothing taste. It is “Not” a sweet wine. It packs a bite.

Expected a lot from a top brand.  This bottle left us bewildered.  Marginal at best for $70-80 a bottle.  Tasted like a bland Pinot Noir
