Casamigos Tequila is incredibly smooth and easy to drink. It has a slightly sweet flavor with hints of vanilla and caramel, making it perfect for sipping or mixing cocktails. There’s no harsh burn, which makes it great even for people who don’t usually drink tequila.

I'm a pretty big fan of the blanco edition of the Casamigos tequila. And, being a whiskey fan, I also like things that are barrel aged. So the anejo edition of Casamigo's tequila (essentially, barrel aged blanco tequila) sounded like heaven to me. Naturally, I needed to grab a bottle and find out for myself.

Intense and delicious flavor

Casamigos is a smooth and well-aged with rich caramel and oak notes, a warm finish, great for slow sipping and celebrating special occasions.  Easy to consume.

Great tequila. Love the flavor. Smooth but intense. Perfect for sipping. One of my favorite tequilas for sure. Love convenience of little bottle but usually buy the big one.

It's not universally loved by tequila connoisseurs, some of whom find it too sweet or lacking depth compared to small-batch or craft spirits — but for many drinkers, it's an easy-to-drink, versatile choice.

Easy to drink

Casamigos tequila anejo is smooth, rich and incredibly refined. On the nose if offers warm, oaky vanilla, and caramel notes with a hint of spice. The palate is velvety with layers of toasted oak, dark chocolate, finishing long and mellow. It's elegant neat or on the rocks and the sleek bottle reflects the premium quality.

Top tier sipping tequila that's worth the price

I finally tried Casamigos Añejo and honestly, it’s really smooth. The first sip gave me that warm caramel and vanilla note right away, with just enough oak behind it to let you know it’s been aged. There’s still that sweet agave taste that comes through, but it’s rounded out with this buttery, almost butterscotch vibe that makes it easy to sip straight.

What I like is it doesn’t hit harsh — it’s warm and a little spicy at the end, but not in a way that burns too much. It lingers just enough to remind you you’re drinking tequila, not whiskey, but it does carry some of those oak and toasted flavors that give it a more “grown” taste.

I wouldn’t mix this one; it feels like it should be sipped neat or maybe over one big ice cube. To me, it’s one of those bottles you’d pull out when you want something sweet and smooth without going too heavy.

I'm not a tequila expert, but Casamigos Añejo is smooth and easy to drink. It tastes sweet and a little caramel-y, with a mild aftertaste that isn't too harsh. It's reliable and consistent, so you know what you're getting every time. Works well neat, on the rocks, or in simple cocktails, though it's a bit too sweet if you mix it with strong flavors. Overall, a solid, easy to drink tequila, but nothing too special if you're looking for something more complex.
