I have been a fan of Black Diamond Private Reserve Cheddar for years.  Flavor is savory and creamy as you'd expect from aged cheddar, but the cheese does not fall apart like some others.  It is my favorite for anything demanding the rich, deep flavor of fine cheddar.  It used to be carried all the time at my Sam's, but now is available only by special order.  I'm just happy I can still get it!

This is the best Sharp cheese and especially when eaten warm.  I cant seem it in the house as nephew takes the refrigerator every time he comes to see if I have any.  If I have two he takes one home with him.

I used to love the Black Diamond Private Reserve Cheddar Cheese, but the last couple of times that I've bought it, I noticed that the cheese contains very tiny, hard bits in it, sort of like you've chewed on little bits of hard calcium or something like that. It really leaves an unpleasant, grainy, mouth feel, like something you need to spit out. That's the only way I can describe it. If anyone else experiences this, please report on it as well. The cheese is not smooth at all, as it should be, and like it used to be. I don't think I will buy this anymore.
