Excellent everyday desktop laptop for home use. It is robust enough for everyday use with the added bonus of being able to do graphics and games when desired. Though it is marketed as a gaming laptop, I prefer this laptop for everyday use rather than lighter laptops. And, one of the best features is that the hinge holds well. Unlike previous laptops that I have owned when the hinge fails and the screen becomes unusable. This one is a winner...I expect it to last just as my previous ASUS did.

Excellent everyday desktop laptop...

I was told by the sales associate that registering your product was important. ASUS product registration process is very easy. Basically you just take a picture of the QR Code and then enter your name and address! The whole thing took less than 2 minutes.

Great value for a laptop with power. I love the second pcie slot, and i have already added a 4tb SSD drive to it.

Quality at a value price!

The wifi card was a bit of a nuisance bc I had to manually update it though device manager from Microsoft edge. Before I updated it I couldn't get above 5 mbps and now I can go higher. My house wifi is 1000 mbps and this laptop seems to stay under 50 mbps. Even on ethernet. Basically the wifi card is not it. Other than that this laptop performs amazingly with everything else! I love it

So I got this because of the graphics card (3050ti) and the 144hz display was a big selling point for me. Very underwhelming at first. Laptop wouldn't turn on without being plugged in immediately. Once plugged in and turned on it says it has 97% battery life. The laptop kinda ran slow, especially for what I would consider a decent laptop, especially with the $999 price point. After 2 hours of watching YouTube on Microsoft edge my laptop was down to 31% battery life. This also included setting up programs and doing system update so MAYBE this is reasonable because it did have a decent bit of updates that had to be done.

I currently have it charging, im going to let it get to 100%, unplug and give it a shot and see how it does. I can honestly say, after doing updates it is running significantly smoother. If the battery lasts even remotely close to the 10 hours it advertises, I would absolutely say this is worth it.

I will update review with more info after some play testing.

Even though the at price point it was good but I had to keep restarting and graphic is amazing. I travel so I had to return it because the battery lasts only 2-3 hrs and performance is not the same as it's plugged in I got asus Q540 at same price but has newer Operating system and way way better performance

Good laptop for price

For the price there is a lot better options than getting this.

Not a smart buy

Purchased mainly for every day use. This is the wrong laptop for general use. 
The one I had ran very hot, the battery does not last more than a couple hours if you are using, the worst thing about this laptop is that it will lock you for 2 hours if you don't leave  it plugged in all the time it has a timer on that function so I didn't  see it at first. That was the last stray for me I reset to manufacturers setting and returned it to Sams.

Not For Everyone

I bought this for business use, and had zero time to research before buying it. For the price it is pretty bad.
Worst is the battery life, I get 2.5-3 hours while using minimal business applications, like office and pdf editors. Its really very sad battery life, and I'm NOT gaming or even watching video.
Also the sound is very low volume. For teams meetings, I MUST use an external speaker to hear. Again, not gaming and it fails in a business environment.
I've had this now for 2 months, and I'm ready to get rid of it. Other issues: its very slow to connect to my hotspot, but that could just be the OS. It does not like to change between external monitors, and the FN key to select your monitor does not work. The lighted keys would be great if there was a convenient way to control them through the OS, but you can only turn them on or control them with the ASUS utility - and you can't just use the FN keys like other laptops.
The utility does not interface well with windows, so boot up and sleep/wake up takes forever.  It is a hard to live with laptop because of how slow it s to recognize accessories and monitor configurations.
I use this on a job site, and have to set it up in hotel rooms. So far it has worked with a USB-c hub to attach an external monitor and keyboard-mouse-speaker-camera setup. I honestly don't care about cpu/gpu performance, as I edit construction drawings, use spreadsheets and surf the web with this machine. The ASUS utility also clashes with windows power conservation settings, so the screen goes dark in 5 minutes then it takes time to wake up again.
My level of experience - I got my first laptop in 1995, used to set up windows networks professionally, have built and installed and deployed windows servers, currently use Ubuntu on most of my personal devices, including the gaming PC that I built from parts. So solid mid level understanding of drivers/windows setup.

Works poorly in business travelling setting

Sam's still had tickets to take to Customer Service by this laptop and let us Scan & Go  But when we got to Customer Service they said they do not carry this on anymore   We asked why it was still there and could be buy the one on display   They said No!   Very disappointed in Sam's Club
