Always fast great quality and really great prices but would love to see some sales prices on full cases

I have been buying this from Sam's for about 5 years now and use 12-15 cases per month. I use it to make beef jerky. It's usually pretty lean which is what I want for jerky. I prefer the Excel brand. It has less of a fat cap, so I get more meat and less waste for my money. This can add up to over $100 per case more profit than using other brands that have more of a fat cap. I've used their other cuts of round, but I don't get as good a yield using it. I've bought eye of round from all of he competitors, and Sam's prices and quality can't be matched. Great Job Sam's Club.

Great Cut for Jerky

This meat is NOT for eating like a steak. It works best roasted,smoked or sliced oh so thin and eaten raw in different forms. For roasting, sear the sides in a very hot skillet. When that is finished, put the meat into a heated oven at225 degrees with a probe thermometer set to 130 degrees. Pull it and let it sit for five minutes with a tent of aluminum foil over it very loosely. Now it is perfect for putting on a sandwich with some Dijon mustard and horseradish. It can be put on a platter, shaved,  for an appetizer. Tossed into a salad it is wonderful specially with blue cheese dressing. But the secret to it is not to rush it into an over cooked and toughened state. It is not a steak cut, it is a roast cut from the round.

This is a good deal overall, but there is a lot of fat left on the roast.

Good price, but a lot of waste

Fattest in town, as well as the cheapest. The only downside is to expect to pay for 1-2lb of fat.
