The process is extremely simple and no room for errors. It guides step by step and it shows all the options and the likelihood of them being applicable to you. It also explains- in a different window what they mean and how they apply with examples. Extremely easy system. It does an error check at the end and takes straight to any discrepancy, if there's any so you can revisit it immediately without having to search for it. It's compatible with my desktop pc and downloads quickly. It also informs you as soon as the IRS and state accept you return transmission. I have been using it for over 20 years and I save 100's of dollars annually on preparation.

Turbo Tax is truly awesome.

TurboTax gets the job done. I have some complexities like K-1s that raise topics that aren't fully covered in the TT Home & Business product but it gets me close enough to find other answers myself. It also makes it easy to cover my wife's small business. I have used the product for years and am comfortable with the user interface and process for completing my return. I will continue using this product in the future.

TurboTax Is My Tax Reporting Tool of Choice

Not as good as previous years.  To many niggling problems.  I am still not sure that the Federal Return was accepted by the IRS.  When comparing 2024 data to 2025, the year of the Return was not prominently displayed on the Return I was lookiing at.  This led to confusion and possible errors.

2025 Return Feedback

The compatibility of filing choices and payment options are cumbersome. It does not allow you to access prior year return to verify prior year AGI. It only allows for the current year information. This makes it difficult to complete the return and efile.

Turbo Tax has its issues

Two years in a row the return was incorrect, fortunately both in my favor. For 2025 the dialog completely skipped over the estimated tax payment section (a pretty massive error). Since you don't get to see the forms until you've already prepared the whole package, by then any error is hard to pick out. For the past 3 years there have been issues with the online version that required tech support and again going into the forms which you cannot do in the online version. Going forward I will only be using the desktop version.

Desktop version OK but the online version is risky

To much trying to sell services. Where is print only what needs to be filed? Why do you change the flow of the software every year? Like I said before, I spend more time wrestling with the software and it's changes rather than concentrate on tax matters.

Turbo Tax has gone Downhill

Intuit forced me to sign in multiple times - every time I opened TurboTax on my computer, even though it was already downloaded.
In addition, TurboTax doesn't correctly calculate the max employer contribution to a sole-proprietor 401K that also has a defined benefit pension plan.  There are specific rules for that, and you should easily be able to program those into the software - I've been waiting years for this.

Poor user experience for 2025

I'm a Turbo-Tax customer for over 20+ years. This is the first time that the software failed miserably.
 1) The first problem was it wouldn't report what the error was. I contacted Technical Support (twice) for help. Although the technicians diligently worked with me to ascertain what was wrong, they both concluded that I had to start over. 

2) During the second attempt,  I was not able to IMPORT any of the 1099s from financial institutions for the search mechanism would not report any of the them.

Turbo Tax desktop version failures.

The new display of interest, dividends, and brokerage is a disaster.  Having multiple accounts with the same brokerage form, I was not able to identify which account I was accessing.  I hope they revert back to showing a list of accounts with enough details to identify the account.  If I see the same layout next year, I'll probably switch to another tax software.

New changes are terrible.

SHADY PRACTICE OF ADDING EXTRAS NOT WANTED, NEEDED, OR SELECTED WHEN E-FILING AS WELL A SHADY BUSINES PRACTICE TRYIGNT O GET CONSENT TO SHARE DATA MULITPLE TIMES THROUGHOUT TAX PREPARATION PROCESS. SHOULD BE ASHAMED AND HOPE THE GOVT COOKS YOU SOME DAY FOR IT!
