The Unit was easy to put together and the battery seems to last a long time before needing to be recharged. I like the feeding mechanism as it isn't a bump on the ground it is a turn 'on-off' feed. I haven't tried the edger function yet, but it is easy to rotate it into position. Very quite. This is definitely a home use not a commercial use unit, but that is what I got it for.

Only thing is the wire on the motor came off and wouldn't get any power after the first use but after I took it apart and inspected it then repaired the wire it works perfectly again and I'm glad I got it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Sun Joe Cordless String Trimmer is much longer than expected and that's before extending the telescopic pole, it also has an adjustable handle so it can be used comfortably by a tall person. It is lightweight, even with the battery connected. The battery charges in around 2 hrs and includes a charge level indicator, it does not need to run flat before recharging either. The trimmer can be used to trim grass that is hard to get to with the lawn mower or it can be used to edge pathways and borders, it is easy to switch between trimming and edging, just the press of a button. An edger guide and flower guard is included to prevent any accidental damage to plants and shrubs. I found it easy to trim my borders and pathway with this trimmer with the added bonus of not having to worry about the cord.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little hesitant about a battery operated anything, But my gas powered weed eater just was not cutting it. This beats out pulling my shoulder out of its socket just trying to start my other weed eater. This battery operated trimmer is great, literally no muss, no fuss. Charge the battery, make sure you have string and away you go. There is no oil to manage, no fuel to buy, no additives to add. Plus to start it you simply push in the safety and push a button. So simple! Love that it has the edging wheel. I definitely recommend this to anyone on the fence about the battery powered equipment.

Works Great!

Seems to be a high quality made string trimmer with a very nice battery. The only thing I don't like is the string advance (be sure to read how it works before buying).

A very nice trimmer except for the string advance

This is a nice trimmer/edger. Two things that I don't like about is, 1) you have to manually put the line out when you need more cutting line and 2) it states you can get a replacement spool (24V-ST14 Spool). I've looked it up and can't find any replacement spool for this trimmer.

24V-ST14 Trimmer/Edger

Very good quality but too heavy and long for me. I wanted this brand because I have the mower and blower and I really like them. Unfortunately this trimmer is not for me.

Not a good fit for me

I bought the trimmer in 2022 and it has worked great. The reason for the two-star rating...the replacement string spools are unavailable. This product needs to be taken off the market until a viable replacement spool becomes available.

Trimmer works but no replacement spool available

The unit is a little heavy but the worst part is the auto string feed does not work well especially when in the edging position (maybe I have a bad unit but after a short run of the unit I have to manually release the string).

Ordered this primarily for its touted use as an edger. Am unable to get to work as an edger unless the guide wheels and flower guard are removed. This makes the unit too unstable and unwieldy for the intended operator, a 4 foot 11 inch, 120 pound person. Am looking to return unit for refund.
