I went through two pairs of glasses in a span of 7 weeks.  Both pairs was purchased with my insurance at Sam's Club.  Both pairs seems to lock up during a firmware update with the second pair sending a message that the speaker is not working and shortly after that the left arm of the glasses heated up.  Sam's has a 60 day money back so I was able to return them.  I also filed a claim with Meta but the process would have been about a month. The warranty through Meta goes like ... You call them an explain your situation then that person give you the ok for the next stage which can range from 7-10 days and that to get the return box prepaid.  Then I was told that 7-10 to evaluate  the actual  product.  Then other 7-10 to get it back repaired or replaced.  Total time is about a month.  I opted with returning to point of purchase but if you do that you have to returned your prescription lens also even though could have pop the lens into a new pair.
The warranty is from the time of purchase not the time of a replacement from Meta so it is best to start fresh so your warranty will last a year.

I have to say when they work it's good.  I don't know if Sams got a bad lot of glasses but I decided to purchase the Gen2 from somewhere else.
