this is one of those products where you don't really think about it until you try a cheaper version and immediately regret it. the texture is actually smooth and spreadable instead of acting like refrigerated drywall on a bagel. i've also used it for random cooking stuff like pasta sauces and dips and it melts in way better than most store brands. the taste is simple but in a good way, and it consistently feels fresh instead of weirdly sour after opening. honestly just one of those basic fridge staples that somehow every household ends up having for a reason

Over the years, I have tried to recreate these recipes with other brands and it is NEVER the same! Philadelphia is the gold standard for the perfect cream cheese flavor and texture. Philadelphia original cream cheese is a staple in my fridge. It has a rich creamy flavor  and perfect spreadability when it is at room temperature. This is aromatic fish. I highly recommend it

I love cream cheese and I especially love it and cream cheese frosting! Oh my gosh that is my absolute favorite!! Cream cheese makes frosting taste so decadent and creamy and delicious. My only complaint and it's a big one with Philadelphia cream cheese is the ingredients in it, in my opinion there's absolutely no need for any thickeners like guar gum. The purpose of using guar gum is to get away with using less of the actual ingredients in it. Which irritates me. You can find organic cream cheese with all natural normal ingredients in it for the same price.
