I bought 2 bags of these solely for the peony roots.
All 4 were planted in temporary pots in Oct in full sun, buried a bit shallow & kept moist. All 4 have growth. I would say it took about 3 weeks before I noticed the first one with some pink & then the rest followed a week or so later.
I don't know if they will be like the picture, but for the price, I would gladly buy them again
