About this item

Product details

Wisteria: A Blend of Shrub and Vine

Wisteria is a unique blend of shrub and vine, known for its vigorous blooming in spring. It produces showy, cascading flower clusters that add a splash of color to any garden. Wisteria is perfect for creating a drapery, vining slipcover look to camouflage a view or provide shade over a porch or pergola. It can live a long, healthy life with minimal to no pruning, depending on your aesthetic preference. Wisteria is a robust plant that happily twines, climbs, and sprawls over everything in its path. A sturdy support is recommended for this plant. It is drought tolerant and easy to grow, making it a great choice for both experienced gardeners and beginners.

Hydrangeas: Popular and Versatile

Hydrangeas are among the most popular flowering shrubs available. They come in several different types, each producing unique foliage and bloom shapes. The most common types include Mopheads and Lacecaps (macrophylla), which produce large, globe-shaped blooms; Oakleaf (quercifolia), known for its unique fall color and oak leaf-shaped foliage with almost panicle shaped blooms; Panicle or Pee Gee (paniculata), which produce cone shaped bloom heads that start out white and gradually turn color; Grandiflora (arborescens) or Snow hydrangea; and Climbing hydrangeas (anomala).

Trumpet Vine: A Late Summer Performer

The Trumpet Vine is a fantastic late Summer through Autumn performer that provides trumpet-shaped blooms in warm, rich shades for many years. It can be trained to grow on trellises, walls, or fences. The ideal soil for this plant is porous and drains well, yet still holds enough water for the roots. If your soil is heavy clay and drains slowly, or very sandy and does not hold water, adding organic soil amendments such as peat moss or ground bark can help.

Planting and Care Instructions

When planting, spread a 3-4" layer of soil amendment, add fertilizer and incorporate together into the soil to a depth of 10". Dig a hole and place the root(s) in the hole at the recommended depth and spacing. Cover with soil. If planting a large quantity of roots in one bed, excavate the entire area to the recommended depth, work fertilizer into the bottom of the trench, place plants then cover roots all at once. Water thoroughly at planting. While actively growing, water frequently and thoroughly so that water will reach the roots. Mulch to keep the soil cool and to prevent the soil from drying out. Apply fertilizer before and after flowering for best results.

Look for life in the stems

I got this in store and you could see life in the stem. I soaked the roots in water and potted them up in some peat moss to grow under my lamp during the chaotic spring in my garden. I will let them stay out of the weather is decent then acclimate. I have had great success with bare roots in the past. These seem promising but definitely need some attention as most new plants do.

Healthy

These appear to be heathy and thriving and I haven’t even taken them out of the box yet- I’ve had them for 2 weeks in my house. They both have happy green leaves growing. Can’t beat that price for these plants.

Waiting Patiently

Purchased a few weeks ago. Potted right way but there has been no other growth than the same leaves that were there when I purchased the set. Will follow up if there its any growth.
