Unlike most other flowering plants, Begonias thrive in the shade, providing beautiful blooms from summer to frost. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a beginner, these plants are a perfect choice to add a splash of color to your garden.</p> <h3>Starting Begonias</h3> <p>Start your Begonias indoors in pots or flats in January. Fill the container with damp peat moss, evenly leveled to the top. Press the tubers into the damp peat, but do not cover them. Be careful not to let the tubers become wet and cold, as this can cause them to rot. Keep the pots in a warm place day and night (60-65ºF) and keep the peat moss moist.</p> <h3>Soil and Watering Requirements</h3> <p>The ideal soil for Begonias is porous and drains well, yet still retains enough water for the roots. If your soil is heavy clay and drains slowly, or very sandy and does not hold water, add organic soil amendments such as peat moss or ground bark. Spread a 3-4" layer of soil amendment, add fertilizer, and incorporate together into the soil to a depth of 10".</p> <h3>Planting and Care Instructions</h3> <p>When planting, dig a hole and place the bulb(s) at the recommended depth and spacing. I purchased these from the Grand Forks, ND store on 03/20/26. I bought 4 packs of these for a total of 36 bulbs.  If I get 4 plants I will be lucky, the bulbs are small, woody, some are rotten, terrible purchase.  Wished I would have saved my money of $64.26 with tax.  I tried uploading my pictures, but it would not let me.
