Member's Mark Peony - Sarah Bernhardt Bulbs

Peonies are perennials that will live for decades, even generations. Member's Mark™ Peony blooms are outrageously beautiful, producing lush, glossy, green foliage all summer long, turning purplish or gold in the fall. Peony blooms are available in a wide range of colors, textures, and shapes. A favorite among florists. Peonies attract hummingbirds and butterflies to the garden and are deer resistant.&nbsp; The ideal soil is porous and drains well, yet still holds enough water for the roots. If your soil is heavy clay and drains slowly, or very sandy and does not hold water, add organic soil amendments (peat moss or ground bark). Spread a 3-4" layer of soil amendment, add fertilizer and incorporate together into the soil to a depth of 10".&nbsp; Dig a hole. Place root(s) in hole at depth and spacing noted. Cover with soil. When planting a large quantity of roots in one bed, excavate the entire area to the recommended depth, work fertilizer into the bottom of the trench, place plants then cover roots all at once. Water thoroughly at planting. While actively growing, water frequently and thoroughly so that water will reach the roots. Mulch to keep the soil cool and to prevent the soil from drying out. Apply fertilizer before and after flowering.

Got this from my local club.  When I unpacked, the three roots look dry and dead.  I already bought the pots and everything, so I planted these.  To my surprise, all three sprouted and seem to be in good shape.

The package indicates there are three roots.  When I unpacked, only two of them are still alive.  The third one is dead and rotten.  Hope the remaining two roots will grow.
