Member's Mark Clematis - President Plants

Clematis vines are prized for their incredible flowers. Known as the "Queen of the Climbers", clematis plants are easily trained to grow onto trellises and fences, or arch gracefully over doorways. Member's Mark™ Clematis are stunning when used alone, creating major focal impact. Clematis are great for attracting pollinators and will return year after year.&nbsp; The ideal soil is porous and drains well, yet still holds enough water for the roots. If your soil is heavy clay and drains slowly, or very sandy and does not hold water, add organic soil amendments (peat moss or ground bark). Spread a 3-4" layer of soil amendment, add fertilizer and incorporate together into the soil to a depth of 10".&nbsp; Dig a hole. Place root(s) in hole at depth and spacing noted. Cover with soil. When planting a large quantity of roots in one bed, excavate the entire area to the recommended depth, work fertilizer into the bottom of the trench, place plants then cover roots all at once. Water thoroughly at planting. While actively growing, water frequently and thoroughly so that water will reach the roots. Mulch to keep the soil cool and to prevent the soil from drying out. Apply fertilizer before and after flowering.

Received 3 clumps assuming they are the bulbs, Had them planted for 2 weeks now and only saw one of the "bulb" showing a tiny shoot... The other 2 shows nothing yet.

Clematis bulbs in a box...

Sent a picture earlier and never got a response.  One of the bundles was completely dry with no sign of any plant at all. Of the other 2, only one has grown.  It looks healthy.  ? If the other one may still grow.

Waiting to see what really grows

I purchased 2 boxes and planted everything right away.  That was more than 10 weeks ago and I have absolutely nothing to show for all of my work and money. ABSOLUTELY ZERO GROWTH!!  I bought loads of caladiums, elephant ears and gladiolus & for the most part had wonderful, dare I say stunning success? My neighbors have stopped to complement them. LOL  However, this is the second year I've purchased clematis at Sam's with no plants to show. There will not be a 3rd purchase!  I am so disappointed. I would return them but it's not like I can dig them up and take whatever is left of them in to the store. My advice? DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I've certainly learned my lesson.
