Fermented in open-top tanks and aged in primarily French oak barrels, this Pinot Noir has subtle hints of toasty barrel spice and minerality. Best served after opening 30 minutes prior to serving. <h3>Weather Conditions for Vintage&nbsp;</h3> The Monterey Region had a wet start to winter- with early rainfalls helping to ease drought conditions by replenishing both soil moisture and reservoirs. A mild spring and summer followed, and all was normal until the September heatwave bought record temperatures to the region and with it a very rapid onset to harvest. We did see slightly lower than average yields in Monterey in 2022 but a quality harvest was quickly apparent with concentrated avors, balanced acidity and re ned phenolic development being the norm. Our Monterey Pinot Noir harvest began on September 7th and was bottled on May 17, 2023.&nbsp; <h3>Vinification Comments</h3> Fruit is cold soaked at 48˚F for 3-5 days. Fermented in open top tanks, punched down 3 times per day during active fermentation. LaCrema Pinot Noir has been a longtime favorite, and it is a great value at Sam's Club. The wine is rich bodied and full of great fruit flavors, without the diluted-out taste of some pinot noirs.

Strange that I love the cheapest of the La Crema Pinot Noirs. And it has a screw on cap, even. But it is my favorite. It's smooth, rich wine that goes with everything.

My Favorite Pinot Noir

This wine reminds me of a well-made California peanut noir. I think this offers great value for the dollar and well worth the price. Yes, I would recommend this one.

This is a good wine but not a great wine.  For the price point it is serviceable as a table wine. The La Crema Pinot Noir from Sonoma (similar label, slightly more expensive) is a better choice.
