Hankook Kinergy PT H737 - 195/60R15 88H Tire

Bought two of these about 6 months ago for our Rav4 to see how they wear. Bought two more recently. Based on treadwear and miles on the first two, I estimate that the four tires will last around 40,000 miles. I know it's less miles than advertised, but most treadwear claims are overly optimistic. And we live on a rocky dirt road. Treadwear warranties through Walmart are worthless. Traction on wet pavement and on gooey mud is pretty good. Haven't had the chance to try them on snow or ice yet. After driving on a curvy portion of I-25 in New Mexico during a very heavy rain, I am confident in their performance on water. Kept it at 75 while others were slowing down, and never felt any loss of traction.

Supposedly, I had good, new tires on my car when I bought it, but it has never once - in the past five years of owning it - felt 100% in control when I drive. The brakes were always a little too sloppy and didn't come to a perfect stop. Curves and corners always elicited a minor squeak even at super low speeds. Going up big hills, I couldn't go too fast or the the car would slip and stutter. In prep for a long road trip, I finally set aside the cash for new tires and picked these. Not only was it not as much as I expected it to be (less than $500 installed), but it's like I replaced my car with a new one. It now stops on a dime. I had super fun doing doughnuts in the roundabout - with not a squeak from my tires, or any slipping on the road at all. And getting up the hill to my house was cake. These tires hug the pavement and don't let go, and they're quieter, too. I actually feel a lot safer driving. Admittedly, I have yet to take them for a drive in the rain. And I live in a rainforest, so it will get wet. But I am definitely confident that these will be fine. I'm actually looking forward to it.
