Although physically larger than my previous printer It makes up for the size difference with a greater array of features.  Multi page copy feed, faster printing speed, document scanning, connectable with a Chrome book  and a larger exit tray(no more pages on the floor) are the enhanced features.

HP DeskJet Plus 4158

Great print quality and it was very easy to setup. However, I've had trouble keeping the printer online.  I've had to reinstall the printer a couple of time within the first month.  Seems HP may have a software glitch.

Nice Printer when connected

printer set up stinks it did not tell you that you really need windows 10  to set up properly  I am old fashion and like when they sent a disc along with the printer with step by step instructions I am 77 years old and not too computer literate so it was very difficult for me.

why I like the old way

Printer is easy to set up but the vertical paper feed from the top rear is inconvenient and ugly. The “ink for 5 months” required me to sign up with my info and agree to pay a monthly fee. No way! As a result, I skipped this, and feel that HP was not very forthcoming about all of this beforehand. If I had it to do over again, I would've never purchased this thing.

Skip this one!

Couldn't connect the printer without the app and then the app wouldn't print without continuing to turn the printer on and off.....had this happen with another HP printer so apparently HP has yet to correct this issue. Of course no help online either. Last time I ever buy HP!

Stay away from HP

Well no longer buy HP products. Printer printed for pages and then when no longer print any. Totally unable to get help online and no phone number anywhere to call. Returned it to Sam's. Sam's service was good they took in the return. Hope they send it back to HP in pieces even though it was still like new when I took it back.

Sorry product

This printer is pure junk. Wish I had spent ~$50 more on a better model.
Sam's service was excellent.
I have owned maybe 5 HP printers and loved them all for performance, durability. And our offices used HP exclusively.
This one is very difficult to set up, connect to WI-Fi, operate from pc or Apple dive with HP Smart Print. It “refuses” to scan from document feeder. Very few adjustments can be made in print or scan quality, options. The instruction imply basically plug in and use.
None of these issues are a Sam's Club problem. It was easy to order, shipped and arrived quickly.
Sam's should stop selling this model.

Do not buy this printer HP-4158

This is such a difficult printer to use if you have a MAC computer. Tech Support took over 30 minutes to reconfigure how my computer has to “talk” to this Smart Printer. I have spent hours trying to make this thing work and I still hate it. I have to turn every document into a .pdf before it will even accept that there is a document to print. And it is painfully  slow to connect and wake up the printer to start printing. I hate it so much. It might just be me or the fact that I live in the country and have slow wi-fi, I want it to be like my old printer that just would print when you needed it to. Old hp printer wasn't smart but it sure was a work horse. Old printer was also wireless with zero issues. I cannot get ink for old printer anymore is why I tried to upgrade. A printer should print and not try to out smart the user.

I hate this printer- it must be too smart for me

Truly horrible printer.  Prints reams of paper just to tell you printer status.  Can't do anything from printer, has to be from a connected device. If thinking about purchasing this printer, do yourself a favor and buy something else, even if you do have all day to spend on the phone with HP support, so they can undo all the progress you make on your own.

Don't buy HP

Not happy with printer. May return it. Have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to print anything every time. Power button just flashes and it is frozen
