I have had a garmin HR, so I knew I wanted to get another garmin. I choose the venu sq. Sam's offered an instant savings which was a bonus. I studied the users manual prior to ordering. When i received it, i charged and it only took maybe an hour. (Charges really fast always) I love that you can change the watch face screen. You can also go to connect IQ store and download other free watch faces screens and activities. I have noticed if i keep the time on constant the battery drains quicker. I can adjust the brightness on the screen to help save battery life as well. I like that I can see time, steps, date, and seconds all on one screen. And I can see my activities, pulse ox, HR, and alerts me to move. I can see messages and do quick reply right from my watch. Most importantly it is waterproof. I shower, swim and wash my hands/watch frequently. 
I love the activity download hike2+ from connect IQ. It actually shows everything including the map of where you walked and even tells you when you are close to your starting point. You can add way points.
My only complaint is that the treadmill activity says treadmill running, I'm not a runner but I do walk alot on a treadmill. I would recommend this watch. I know not everyone will love it like me but if you give it a chance you and study on how to work it, you will find it does most everything you need. Oh yeah i forgot to mention that I can listen to Spotify. Fast forward, rewind and pause from my Garmin.

I TOTALLY RECOMMEND

It meets my needs; but I would like a pickleball workout on the app and satellite capabilities on the watch — then it would be awesome!

I am extremely satisfied with my recent purchase, particularly with the exceptional precision of the built-in GPS, which accurately tracked my 4-mile run. Unlike other watches that have been off by a quarter mile, this watch was spot on at 4 miles. Although I plan to test it with longer runs in better weather, I am already impressed with this great watch. Moreover, I appreciate the watch's design, feel, and features which suit my needs perfectly. Overall, I highly recommend this watch.

Garmin

I love my Garmin! I put off buying one for way too long. It's perfect for my cross country practices and daily life. The app is also perfect for tracking my health and it's so fun to complete the challenges it provides. If you're thinking about buying this, DO IT!!

Must Have!

My daughter and her husband got me this for Christmas. I was so excited because I'm 62 and I go out to Dr appointments and shopping sometimes by myself and I get afraid of fall or having problems with my pacemaker and heart. So now I feel secure when going out .or when they go out and I have the grandkids. Because I can call for help.

Awesome feature's

Works great with Dexcom G7. Watch face and data field available. 

Tip: when setting up watch face be patient. When it tells you to wait...do so.  It is working, it just takes about 20 minutes to connect the first time. When readings appear they will then always be there.

really useful especially the ability to track specific activities as well as round the clock calories, heart rate and other fitness parameters.  One suggestion is to improve data consistency thru the different pages.  such as heart rate for daily average, max and resting showing each day.  see attached for details

venu sq new user

I bought this and have been wearing it a little over a month.  At first I loved it. Then after about 4 weeks I noticed my watch was no longer white.  See pictures.  I do not get the watch wet and I make sure I never put lotion or sunscreen on my wrist. At first I thought it's just the back and no one can see it. Now it's on the sides and looks terrible.  I'm hoping Garmin reaches out to me with a solution.

My partner & I gifted each other with a Garmin Venu Sq each for Christmas - some of the features on his didn't work from the 1st time he wore it and it has since been sent back to be fixed. My watch has just completely stopped working - no lights, buttons don't react, just black screen. We have had older models of Garmin watches which had no problems but these have been nothing but problems.
