The popularity of the Ewa Sweet Onion has grown tremendously where now there are culinary competitions, expos and yearly festivals that feature the delectable vegetable. Ewa Sweet Onions have a lighter, thinner skin and are normally larger than yellow onions. They have low sulfur content, less pungent, and with their sweet flavor are great for sauteing and caramelizing. Pickup a 5lb bag at your nearest Sam’s Club Hawaii. Recipe: Ewa Sweet Onion Crab Dip What You'll Need <ul> <li>1 medium Ewa Sweet Onion, thinly sliced</li> <li>7 ounces real crab meat (available in the fresh seafood section)</li> <li>1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce</li> <li>1 cup reduced fat mayonnaise</li> <li>1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded</li> <li>Salt and pepper to taste</li> </ul> How to Make It <ul> <li>Preheat oven to broil.</li> <li>In a large bowl, combine all ingredients until well mixed. 💚💚💚These are excellent Ewa Sweet Onions and they're grown tight here in Hawaii. Maybe they cost a little bit more--but we must support our local farmers in hawaii,  if something interrupted our shipping we would have no food to eat relatively quickly due to our large population (our island. Is NOT self sustaining--if we don't support and buy locally grown produce!
