Excellent Security Camera System to protect your home. I have been a long time Defender systems user and love them. These model specifically has wide angle cameras and great night vision capabilities. the sensors work great and picks up movements immediately. If you are using for inside the home, i would recommend to turn off the lights for night vision. Access from app works nice and very quick/easy to setup. Audio feed, although works only from one camera at a time, is a good feature to have.

There is a little issue with the red box indicating persons where there is no one but only on one of the eight cameras. Otherwise no issues and so far it’s been a great picture and my electrician son installed them from the attic with zero issues. Couldn’t be happier. The price was incredible also.

Love these home protectors

Delivery was on time and nicely packaged..   I have not installed the units yet as I am still taking down my exciting security system,    The only issue I would change is the massive weather guards that is on each camera input wire, when installing them on a wall or bulkhead you are forced to drill a 3/4" or larger hole just to get the wire through..  This is a major hole and takes a good sized drill leaving wall damage.    The only option is having every camera using a junction box which is clumsy.

Great product with big wires....

System was pretty easy to install and works well. Like having a powered system. Package was complete which was nice. Wish you had better quality screws or perhaps change to hex screws for camera angle setting. Found that the current phillips screws are soft and strip pretty easily.

Happy with product

You changed your hookup technology, this new system can't be run in parallel with my previous Defender system.  That's of little consequence, I'll run them side by side, but it wouldn't have been nice to have had a certain consistency. 
Regardless, I'm a kern patron of your technology, and will be buying more as my business grows.

Super easy to install, and love the crisp picture. Only quip I had is that 60’ runs are tight when going to opposite ends of the house, 80’ cable runs would have been much better as I had to extend 2 of my camera runs.

Great system, quality video

This is my 3rd Defender camera system. By far my new system has better cameras, audio and even security motion lights. The system is priced lower than the original system I purchased over 12 years ago. My only complaint is the user interface which to me, is not intuitive. It takes real digging to find out how to replay and save videos.

Third System - Best Yet

Good system. Easy to install. We enjoy the wide view. Can see a lot more than expected. Only issue is that we get alerts that they are picking up human body but when you look, it's nothing. We tried turning sensitivity down but it didn't help. So we get a lot of notifications for nothing. And it's the same spot over and over. Maybe it's a ghost? Lol otherwise we are happy with it all.

The system could have came with better quality Ethernet cables like cat 6. Also I would have loved to known that the nvr needs to be within 30ft from internet modem before I set all the cameras and wires up 95ft away from my internet modem. The last thing i don't care for is video playback is rather complicated. There is only pause and fast forward, no rewind to go back in case you want to watch something over again and you cannot zoom in on playback footage. The instruction manual is rather lacking in a lot of details. Very informative on setting it up with you phone, everything else isn't.  
However, the picture quality is absolutely amazing

Discovering small details..

Pros: The cameras are sturdy with good quality. The installation was easy. The mobile app responds quick and smoot which provides basic features needed to check the cameras and adjust some limited settings. The pictures are clear and sharp.

Cons: First, I don't like the way used to adjust the position of the cameras with three screws which are sometimes hard to access after installation. There is no control of the video output remotely, so it is very inconvenient if you want to connect the NVR to a remote TV. The mobile app needs some tweaks for a good user experience, for example, ability to navigate between cameras.

This is just a preliminary review though. Still need time to play around.

A Security System that makes you feel safe

I purchased this bundle just over a year ago.  It was supposed to include a 2 year extended warranty at no extra cost.  They are now refusing to honor the warranty.  They said it is a 1 year warranty and I am over that time frame.  My NVR has crashed and I have 2 cameras that will no longer work.  It all worked fine for about 8 months.  I am looking into finding a different security system at this time unless they choose to honor their advertised warranty.  We are still negotiating on that point at this time.
