I bought this mainly because of the advertised minimal ink useage. I have only had it for a couple of weeks and according to the ink status indicator on the built in LCD  the printer is doing just that. Ordering and the new 2 day delivery process from Walmart were also as advertised.

I bought this printer a few months ago, unfortunately smashing it during a remodel, so I wanted to replace it with the same one.  I love the fact that it can print both sides.  Saves a lot of file space.  It's frugal with the ink too!  It is a little slower than I was used to but I still prefer it over my old printers.

2nd Purchase

I love this printer over my other Brother #MFC-6490cw  which keeps loosing its wi fi connection and a def pain esp when needing to print and its not on line .. I still use it but as a back up (wired) to print or scan .

We have had other brands through the years but Brother so far Ian the best printer for the money. It saves us on ink costs and is very reliable. We have told others about this product and are well pleased.

Great Printer and we love it !

We have an accounting firm and during tax season, we can go through 2 cases of copy paper in a month.  Since tax year 2016 has not arrived yet, we have only used the printer and fax sparingly.  So far it has worked fine.  My only complaint is that when we print a multi page document, it prints in reverse order.  In other words, when the printing job is done, the last page is on top and I have to reverse the order of the pages.  I called Brother and they said that there is no way to change this.  It's not a major problem but my old HP printer had the ability to reverse the pages

Received in timely manner.  Print is a little slower than I thought, but the SCANNER works BEAUTIFULLY  and they makes it so simple directly from the printer screen, and the COPIER works well... which is what I purchased it for mainly .

Brother MFC-J985DW All in One Printer

I have only used the copy, print features of this printer so my review is limited.  It worked fine and printed clear.  It comes with a 67 page guide (english version) that answers any questions you may have. I used USB to connect, very simple.  With my old  HP 3in1 I was able to change image size in prescan starting at 1%, the brother does not have that scanning option.. Any resizing is done under the copy program and am not sure what limitations there may be with reducing and enlarging images.  To load paper-must remove paper tray first. A tad annoying. This really looks like a pretty decent printer many features.

I bought IT about a month ago,do not like. IT prints from last page to first page, HP printed from first page to last.   instructions not clear to a novice.

I took 2 hours with Brother Tech support with software & they couldn't get the scanner working, told me to call the computer mgf. Dont waste your time.

Lame software

This printer will not work well with anything other than expensive Brother ink. I understand printer manufacturers make their money on ink rather than printers, but I never will buy the name brand ink. I can eventually get the printer to work after I reinstall the cartridges several times but it is a pain. Other printers are easier to use with generic ink.
