I like the convenience of canned beans, but I don't like the sodium.  But making dried black beans doesn't have quite the consistency I'm looking for, so when I saw these huge cans of lightly salted black beans, I bought them immediately.

The good news is they're perfect if you've been using several cans of black beans when you make barbecued beans - or any kind, really.  It's the perfect amount of beans if you simmer them in a 5 quart with sauce; it doesn't overfill it, but it's a good amount of beans.  If you only make smaller amounts, you'll probably need to store most of the beans and use later.

I love Bush's low sodium black beans. They are full of flavor without the sodium. I mainly use them when I cook taco soup but I like eating them by themselves as well.

Goya black beans are a tad better tasting

Bush canned black beans are excellent but .....

product arrived with an expirations date of one month from the date of delivery!  Which means it's old stock.  I will never buy again.
