400 Conejos® is well-balanced and smooth with soft hints of wood, sweet notes of cooked agave and a pleasant smoky finish. Their award-winning mezcal is perfect to enjoy on its own or in your favorite cocktail to add a bit of smoke. <h3>Production Process</h3> 400 Conejos is finely crafted from 100% espadín agave in Oaxaca, Mexico using traditional methods.&nbsp; Only the best espadín agaves are hand-selected after being meticulously cultivated. After selection, the agaves are harvested using “jima” and taken to the “palenque” where they are cooked in traditional cone-shaped wood ovens.&nbsp; The wood is lit and volcanic rocks are placed on top of it in a pyramid shape.&nbsp; Finally, the agave “piña”-filled oven is covered with cloth and earth and cooked for 3 to 5 days. Once cooked, the piñas are milled using a stone pulled by a horse.&nbsp;They are then kept in a wooden tub where they begin their fermentation process. 400 Conejos mezcal is double-distilled in copper pot stills and then bottled to enjoy at 80 proof.

Great taste, smokiness is just on point.. not just for mixing but great to do straight if you’re a shot digging person.

Great mezcal at a great price.

This Mezcal was recommended by a worker at a cantina in Aguas Calientes, Mex. And it happen to suddenly be available at Sam's! Such a hit on this Mezcal. Problem is that the price will increase in a few months as it gets more popular just like Casamigos.

Traditional Joven Mescal ...misunderstood but this is a traditional burnt agave taste. I embrace it and it's natural agave tones. A real mescal connoisseur will enjoy this very much. Such a treat at a fantastic price.
