Purchased this for my Father. Knowing Honeywell has a good reputation I chose this model over several others. The price was higher, but as the old say goes.. . "You get what you pay for." My father sure has not been disappointed. Cools quickly and runs well. It was easy to install and had a 4 year warranty.

Excellent Air Conditioner for the money.

This unit installed easily and works great.   I cools a bigger area better than a previous 11K BTU dual hose unit it replaced and draws 10.8 Amps of electricity, which works well with our old house's wiring.  The circulation fan is pretty quiet and the compressor on/off cycles are smooth and quiet, too.  Our son also liked this AC unit and bought 2 for his house.

Installed well and works great

This unit is easy to install with the panel easy to adjust. You just need to make sure you put a long piece of wood between the top of the bottom sash and the top inside of the window so it holds the window and panel firmly in place. The controls are so easy to use and the remote accomplishes that. I love its ability to not have to empty a water tank when using the air conditioning mode since it evaporates. It also acts as a dehumidifier along with fan mode. Also, I purchased this unit because Honeywell made it and they have an excellent reputation for making the best.

Love the style and maker of this product

This AC cools like a real AC should. I've had other portable models (not 14,000 though) that did not do what this one does. I am also very glad it has manual operation & does not rely on the remote alone. I have had remotes that quit & no manual way to operate equipment. My only complaint is the color black which I hate & the fact that when the panel isn't lit up it is difficult to see the controls. But if you're looking for a portable AC, go for it!

Best portable AC I have used to date

The Honeywell MM14CCS 14,000-BTU Room Portable Air Conditioner w/Remote Control cools really well. I have cooling an area that is roughly double the size that it is designed to cool and it is performing better than I have expected. In the main room that it cools the temperature stays nicely at 75 degrees. So far it has stopped me from purchasing another air-conditioner for an area the size of 960 sq ft.  The temperatures that the machine had to fight have reach 90 degrees out-side yet the cooling stays strong.

Great Cooling Overall

This unit was exactly what I needed. It was easy to install and it works great. The 14,000 BTUs comfortably cools off a big room and it's a lot quieter than my previous 12,000 BTU portable air conditioner. Instead of hard keys, it has feather-touch controls on the top front, which is a nice feature. However, these controls are sensitive, so be careful about accidentally turning it on if you bump into the unit. Or, you can simply unplug it when not in use.

works great, haven't had to drain it and i use it everyday. strong AC but don't expect to cool your whole house, it does say room AC after all. 

only thing is the vent can only face up to the ceiling, therefore takes a little longer to feel the effects after turning it on compared to a window ac that could face straight out.

good product

This is our second unit of this type.  We have used our downstairs one for 2 years and this is for the upstairs bonus area.  It cools well, but is noisy.  
When running on dehumidify, it pulls alot of water so we needed to hook a hose up and drain it into a bucket.  
It is less "picky" about needing to always stand up, and customer service assured us it can be stored in the unheated upstairs in the winter, so makes it easy for us to care for.

Works for us

I always trust previous reviews to make my buying decisions. It usually pays off and it did again. Walmart beat HD by almost a hundred bucks. Don't know how, but I don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
Very pleased. Unit arrived intact and is very quiet and efficient. And it is an attractive style which is acceptable in most decors I would think.

Best buy for my money

If I seen this item in the store boxed up, I would have walked away. I had I sent too a wall-mart store and my son pick it up for me. The box looked like it three tours of combat. I was concerned about the unit itself how it came though undamaged is anyone's guess.
The unit works fine and does a good job of cooling the two rooms I brought it for, it has too be 20" from the window, that's a pain. The reviews that say it's noise complete disagreement. It sits 4' from my wife and me and I can still hear talk in her normal Voice, just my luck.

Does not cool down the air efficiently.
It stops automatically every two to three hours coz the water tank is filled up.
Need to wake up in the midnight in order to let the water go and make the air con work again.
