Exactly as described, I recently came into a few more guns than I had and wanted to purchase a safe. This one was the best bang for the buck and has worked great since I got it. It is heavy, be prepared if moving down into a basement or up into a second level. The electronic lock with a key bypass is a nice touch and it fit my 9 guns along with lots of ammo.

Safe was sturdy and easy to assemble

The main selling point for me was the size and weight (235 lb) of this safe.  While I would have liked a larger safe, the practicality of the size meant I could easily get it home in my minivan and with (2) guys, we were able to get it carried down to my basement.   Setup/installation was easy and it seems pretty durable for what I need.  Additionally, the safe has built in shelf-tracks along both sides.  With some scrap plywood and some additional shelf clips, I was easily able to add additional shelves making the unit better match my needs.

Easy Enough for (2) Guys To Move

Great safe at this price point. Balanced, so no tipping issues when the door is open. Heavy enough to discourage theft, but still light enough to still move around (I am a rather large individual and I struggled to move it. Do-able, but far from easy). This safe is for the average gun owner who just needs a place to store a few rifles, a shotgun or two, and some ammo. If you have a $100,000 gun collection you probably need something much more robust (and expensive).

Great Safe for the Money

We received this safe quicker than anticipated.  It is great for the price.  We shopped around for a while and are very happy with our purchase.  While it's big, it's not too heavy to get in place.  Fit perfectly in a closet.   Tons of room for not only guns,  but paperwork,  jewelry,  photos and more.

Great safe!

This is a great gun safe at this price range!  If you're expecting a Cadillac safe at Kia price, you'll be slightly disappointed.  Don't get me wrong, this is a nice safe.  But to keep the price down, some of the internal components are a little on the cheap side (plastic shelf clips, for one).  The exterior is solid as is the locking mechanism, which is what matters to me.  This is a nice size for a guy like me who only owns a few guns.  It says 18 guns, but that includes several spots for pistols.  I'm guessing a maximum of 8 long guns, maybe 10 - enough for my needs.
The free shipping was awesome and the unit was well packaged.  The outer box had some noticeable wear as you would expect, but the unit was in perfect condition when unboxed.

Good Value

The product itself is very good, the quality and construction of the safe are top tier. The one issue I have is that Sam's club did not offer this item in their stores around me. I went in a couple of times and had to place an online order. I inquired about having this delivered to the store and I can go pick it up. Unfortunately they said it'd be best for me to have it delivered home. I went ahead and purchased, as I had previously feared… the item was damaged during transportation. One corner of the safe was damaged from a heavy impact. I have now a beautiful safe with a dent on a corner… just wished Sam's Club offered in store pickup for this type of item.

Great product, not the best shipping

OK quality, but not for someone storing Thousands of Dollars worth of goods. Mine arrived with a bad dent on the bottom edge that didn't allow it to sit exactly flat. In good light I saw 3 other significant dents, but they didn't hinder the function. Sam's Club is arranging for pickup of this one and sending a replacement.

Overall, it gets a poor grade. What's nice: The metal safe itself is nice. Steel with a solid door. Good locking mechanism. What's bad: Smells bad, smells like wet drywall. And guess what? It is drywall, the fabric panels are drywall wrapped with fabric. Not sure I want Chinese drywall in my house. Then they shipped it upside down causing all the components to fall. Nothing was secure on the inside of the safe itself, it all fell to the top-upside down. You would think that they would actually secure all the pieces so that if it does get tipped over or shipped upside down it would not cause a calamity like this. Broke some pieces I had to repair. Luckily I'm a cabinet maker.

Quality control

I received my gun cabinet a Christmas gift to my husband and it arrived dented on two corners and the shelves inside were damaged broke in half.  Very disappointed I contacted Samsclub.com and told I would get a new one and someone would call me in 7-10 business days.  Also an email on when the damaged would be picked up I have heard nothing.

Disappointed

Ordered for Christmas. 1st time it was damaged and we refused delivery. Got another sent and it was damaged again. Still fighting with Sam's club to get our money back. They stated a delivery company would call withing 3 - 5 busines days to make arrangements to pick-up.  That was on February 3rd and we haven't heard anything. Also found out that Sam's club customer service is based out in the Philippines.
