This is the best value for small rifle safes. I've been looking at the stack on which is really just a cheap locker. The door of this safe has big thick bolts. No assembly was needed,  It does need to be bolted in to support the weight of the door.

First Small Gun Safe

This safe is suited for holding one MSR (Modern Sporting Rifle) and a shotgun. That is why i purchased it in the first place. But if your planning it holding 5 rifles they would need to be pretty standard sizes. With scopes removed.

Great safe for the price and dimensions.

It is not a gun safe, it is a gun cabinet with an ok locking mechanism. It has some deficiencies but for the price you really can't get to picky. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the outer finish along with a few small dents and dings. I guess we'll blame the shipping……

Ok gun CASE

It's a decent value for the money.  I love the small footprint.  A determined thief will probably be able to pry the door open if they have a 4 foot prybar.  But, if you mount it to a stud or the floor, I think they would have a heck of a time. Mine is FULL with 4 shotguns.  You might be able to wedge in a 5th if you don't mind it getting scrapped.
However, like many others, mine was defective.  I am still going through the nightmare that is Sam's Club chat exchange.  They sent me a second one, which was also defective, but at least it was just cosmetic.  The return has been sitting in my hallway for a week because I can't convince Sam's to send FedEx out to pick it up.
You may be interested to know that both safes took the exact same key.

You get what you pay for

A good very basic CABINET. It's not a safe - you could breach it with a can opener. But it functions well to keep children and random people (guests) away from your weapons. Unfortunately, it's not very deep so unless you're storing basic shotguns or non-scoped bolt action rifles, you'll have a hard time storing odd shaped weapons with any height.

This is the second American Furniture Classics - 5 Gun Safe I've purchased. I returned the first one to the Vendor (Not Sam's) because it arrived with chipped powder coating on the door edges, had lots of scratches and appeared to be a reject. The second one was purchased through Sam's Club and to my unpleasant surprise also has chipped powder coating on the edges of the door. I returned the first one, but will keep the second only because it is such a hassle to exchange.

Good enough for what I'm using it for.

The door closes well, but it is not created well causing the door to stick when opening.  The issue is without a handle you have to use the key to pull the door open.  Ok for what you pay for, but not as advertised for quality, especially for the deadbolt door being the selling point.

More of a cabinet than safe, ok quality

Flimsy and cant stand up on its own. Poorly balanced and built. Shelf on the top doest stay on well and the keys barely work. This is about 150 dollars cheaper than the worst cheap gun safe youd want. I got it to save a buck and it bit me. The anchors suck too. Do not buy.

Terrible and doesnt balance with bad anchors

The locking mechanism froze up and key wouldn't open or work first day we used it!  Had to cut hole in it to retrieve guns!  Cheap!  Loss of good hardworking money!

Money wasted!

I bought this for my husband for Christmas and could not be more disappointed.  We got it out of the box and it looks used. The lock doesn't work and the paint was scratched off. This isn't exactly an easy item to return.
