I bought this a month ago - received a partial shipment that Sam's made right quickly.  Got the replacement a week later, put it together (read the directions completely before you begin) and it really came together nice.

Really a nice sturdy shelf

I'm writing this review after enjoying these bookcases for the past 3 months. Assembly was very easy, if there's a handy person around you definitely don't have to worry about that. But what I love most is that I shopped around for months and could not find a bookcase that was 1: Tall enough to appear custom 2: Strong enough to hold very heavy volumes 3: the right color. This finally fit all 3 of my requirements and it has not disappointed. I love them and I am grateful for the price. It was doable along with delivering on all fronts. Highly recommend!

Assembly instructions had one error but it wasn't big enough to hinder assembly. Packing styrofoam stuck to boards to the point I had to use my finger nail to get it off. But the final assembly is strong and looks good. It was nice to find one this size and quality that we could build in place. I would have never been able to get a furniture store piece this size up my stairs.

Worth the money

THE INTRUCTIONS LEAVE A  LOT TO BE DESIRED!!! THE DRWINGS NEED TO BE LABLED BETTER THAN JUST LEFT OR RIGHT NEED TO INDICATE TOP AND BOTTOM . WHEN THE PRODUCT ARRIVED THERE WAS ONLY ONE PERSON ON THE TRUCK TO DELIVER THE TWO BOXES. THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT LEAST TWO. THE CENTER POST WS DAMMAGED AS THE FRONT TRIM STRIP HAD SEPERATED FROM CENTER COLUMN..

PRODUCT WOULD BE GREAT IF HANDLING WAS DONE PROPER

I have two bookcases that came from sam's the most recent is this model.  It is strong and sturdy once assembled.  The major flaw is the shelves.  Each shelf has a trim piece that gets attached to finish the front of it.  This creates a seam that catches the bottom edge of the books when you pull them out.  

The other bookcase I bought in sam's years ago is similar but the shelves are one solid piece of wood with a rolled front edge, similar to the edge of a tread on  a stair.   

If you want to use it for books you care about getting beat up this is not your best option.

Nice construction with one major flaw

Item arrived with one the the most conspicuous pieces broken. It was the front trim piece that attaches vertically down the right side. It literally snapped in two. I contacted the manufacturer and I was promised a replacement would be sent. I have yet to receive it.

Arrived Broken

I thought that for the price this would be bigger. It was very overpriced for the size and quality. Missing parts and the number on the package insert won't answer. It's been sitting in the floor in pieces  useless u too I find the missing piece.

Missing parts

This product is cheap, difficult to put together. Directions are not clear. So full of styrofoam lint it took forever to get it off. The stain was wiping off of the bookcase along with the lint.

Not a good value

I was very disappointed in the bookshelves I ordered. They were damaged and a dark purple color.  I will never order anything from Walmart.com again.

Not a happy camper
