I am acquainted with inverter generators, having used a Honda 3000 for ten years.  I was impressed with the Champion overall looks and build at a price point similar to non inverter generators like a Honda 6500.  
I tested the unit - it was able to power a 1.5 Hp submersible pump.  The issue with such is the locked rotor amps that requires like 50 amps for a few milliseconds.  Non inverter generators will fail to start such a motor because the mechanical governor is too slow to respond.  I was using a Honda because they have extra windings to detect such fast high loads and react.  The second test was to see if the gen operates my inverter mini splits.  This has been an issue with non inverter 240 volt generators.  They will work for awhile but then go go out with error codes, failure to communicate with the indoor mini split.  All inverter equipment like new refrigerators require 3% or less THD, total harmonic distortion.  The Honda 6500 and all other non inverter 240 v gens are 10%.  I recommend the inverter generators.  The Champion is also very quiet and will probably use way less fuel since it doesn't have to maintain 3600 cps, 24/7.
Make sure to cut off fuel supply and let gen die due to running out of fuel.  I have had to replace the carbs in 3 different generators due to varnish build up due to infrequent use.  New carbs don't have replaceable needle valves so whole carb has to be replaced.  I don't know longevity of Champion but so far I am recommending a buy.

So far this has been an impressive generator. I've only had to use it for one 3 hour outage do far. I've checked all of the power parameters on it and is producing very clean power. The only issue I've had is after the break in period and 2 oil changes the compression is so strong that even with a fully charged battery the starter can have a hard time turning it over. I've found if a use the pull start to move the engine just past the compression stroke so that the electric starter can build up a little momentum before hitting the compression stroke it starts fine.

Quiet Generator

Purchased the CO Shield Wireless Start Home Back Up 9000-Watt Single Fuel (Gasoline) Inverter Generator with 11000 watt starting power. This is an impressive piece of equipment! Fully enclosed but all the key components are easily accessible. Tested this generator over the weekend and had full power to 95% of the home. Really impressed with how quiet the generator runs and easily it handles the start-up of the furnace, refrigerator and sump pump. Had no problem running these items along with the toaster, an oven burner, lights, TV, and computers. At this point, I'm looking forward to winter and not worried at all if (when) we lose power here in the northeast.

My first power outage, I’ve been on generator power about 24 hours now and it’s great .
I’m powering my central air in July in southeast Texas … it looks like it will run 24 hours on about 10 or 11 gallons on gas.  
My water heater and clothes dryer breakers are off but I can heat water if I turn the air off for about 30 minutes . I can use my stove top and microwave and coffee maker and central air without overloading the generator…

I use this generator to power my home in power outages. It replaced an 8750 watt Champion, which struggled when my well pump kicked on. This one is wayyy quieter! It powers my home with no problems. The only strike I have against it is that it turns over a lot before starting. Seems to crank for too long, where my last one always started right up. #sweepstakes
