The California Gold Rush was a period of courage, bravado and curiosity. It was with these characteristics in mind that we crafted Gold Rush Red. Grapes chosen from the golden hills and valleys of California were blended to create this bold, adventurous testament to that intrepid spirit. VINEYARDS: Gold Rush Red is a blend based on Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Zinfandel. The grapes were sourced primarily from Mendocino County, the Central Coast and Sonoma County. The wine has a brilliant deep purple hue and is layered with aromas and flavors of rich cherry, cassis, leather and spices. BARRELS &amp; AGING: Gold Rush Red was aged in an array of old and new Bourbon barrels to give this red blend a kiss of the unique dried herbs, smoke and burnt vanilla from these barrels. The flavor is rich with a nod of the Cabernet Sauvignon backbone in the structure of the wine.

This wine is on the drier side of semi dry but has juicy fruit maybe berries notes and a dark smokiness that’s reminiscent of dark chocolate, coffee, or a combo of mocha flavors. If you try and like this, you’ll enjoy Freakshow petit Syrah and Earthquake bourbon barrel aged zin.
