The Best Month to Buy New Appliances

At Sam's Club, the best time to buy new appliances is whenever you need them. No need to hold out for a Labor Day sale or any other holiday to buy a new refrigerator or electric range microwave combo! Though we may have deals and sales, you can rest assured that you're getting the best appliances for the lowest prices all the time when you shop with us.

We are pleased to offer a variety of appliance categories, including freezer refrigerators, water and air treatment machines like dehumidifiers, ranges and stoves, heating and cooling appliances, dishwashers, washers<, dryers, lawn care machines and small appliances like ice makers, microwaves and coffee makers.

It's very easy to buy small appliances online, since they are typically less expensive than major appliances and don't require as much research. With Sam's Club, you'll also benefit from free shipping on many items in this category, like Keurig brewing systems and KitchenAid stand mixers.

If you're hoping to purchase something larger, like a refrigerator or washing machine, the Sam's Club website is still a great choice. The price of many such appliances already includes the cost of shipping, so you won't have to worry about hidden fees. In addition, our members-only pricing on large appliances helps you to feel confident you're getting the best possible deal.

What Types of Appliances Are There?

There are many types of appliances. Consider them small appliances and major appliances.

Small appliances include the following:

  • Kitchen appliances

  • Beverage centers

  • Ice makers

  • Ceiling fans

  • Garbage disposals

  • Water dispensers

These products may or may not be Energy Star rated; some, like microwaves, are more likely to be. In general, small appliances are less essential to the smooth operation of your home.

Major appliances include bigger-ticket items:

  • Electric dryers

These items are essential to basic tasks like cooking, cleaning and generally maintaining a household.

Laundry appliances include top load washers and dryers of all varieties. At Sam's Club, we have many brands and styles for sale, including appliances by Samsung, Whirlpool, LG and NewAir. You might be in the market for just a washer, just a dryer or a laundry bundle, which typically includes both pieces and a stand to add height and storage.

If it's must-have stainless steel kitchen appliances you're after, you've come to the right place. From French door refrigerators to those of the side-by-side variety and those with bottom freezers, from wall ovens to gas cooktops to countertop microwaves, we have it all. Our home appliances will keep your food cold, cook it right and look beautiful while doing so. We also sell dishwashers, so you're covered when it comes to post-meal cleanup. Want to update a tired old kitchen? Our kitchen appliance packages might be for you.

Sam's Club offers a variety of smaller appliances that help keep your home neat and comfortable. Water and air treatment home appliances can range from water purifiers and air purifiers to dehumidifiers. We also sell air conditioners and space heaters to help you remain comfortable, no matter the weather.

Want to keep up on your chores? Check our selection of floor care appliances, including vacuum cleaners from trusted brands like Dyson, Bissell and Shark.

What Is the Best Appliance Brand?

Hard to say. Manufacturers excel in different areas depending on the type of appliance and its features. At Sam's Club, we offer major and small appliances from a variety of brands:

  • Whirlpool

  • Dyson

  • Keurig

  • Frigidaire

  • GE

  • Amana

  • KitchenAid

Depending on what you're shopping for, you might prefer certain brands to others.

For instance, Samsung, Whirlpool and LG are known for their high-quality laundry appliances. They also make kitchen appliances like refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens and ranges. LG and Samsung also make televisions, as does GE. Sam's Club sells cooling appliances by Amana and vacuum cleaners by Dyson. Keurig is best known as a leader in one-cup coffee brewing systems. Frigidaire and GE are best recognized as the makers of side refrigerators, counter depth fridges and other styles, dishwashers, ovens and ranges. KitchenAid makes high-end food processors, mixers and other small kitchen appliances.

FAQ - Appliances

Should I buy energy efficient appliances?

It may be in your best interest to purchase energy-efficient appliances. Saving energy is good for the planet and can also help to cut your electric or gas bills. You can check out the energy rating of most major appliances on our website. Some items, like dishwashers or ovens, may even be Energy Star rated for their impressive efficiency. You may be eligible for certain tax incentives if you purchase energy efficient appliances, depending on your state.

How long do appliances last?

Major appliances should last many years if you've purchased a high-quality option. In general, microwave ovens and dishwashers can be expected to operate for 9 years. You can count on an average of 15 years for gas ranges and 13 years for laundry appliances and refrigerators.

Does unplugging appliances save electricity?

Unplugging appliances does save electricity. This is because appliances still draw power even when they are turned off, as long as they are plugged in. That said, you likely won't wish to unplug appliances like microwave ovens, ranges or washing machines when they aren't in use due to the inconvenience of plugging them in each time.

What does Energy Star mean?

Energy Star is a program that provides certification to products that meet certain standards of energy efficiency. You'll find an Energy Star rating on every major appliance sold at Sam's Club. You can use this information to help you determine which appliance is right for you.
