Would you like to shake up your exercise routine at home, or give the kids a fun activity they can enjoy with their friends? The trampolines from Sam’s Club® might be just the answer you’re looking for.
Not only is jumping on trampolines a ton of fun, but it’s good for you, too. There are mini trampolines and mini bouncers for kids, but both kids and adults can reap the benefits of jumping. Regular exercise like jumping on a trampoline can get your heart rate moving and improve your cardiovascular fitness. Plus, it’s gentler on your joints than high-impact exercises like running or jogging. For little kids, jumping on trampolines helps develop gross motor skills. Trampolines provided added fun for a younger kid's backyard birthday party, while indoor trampoline parks are a hit with the tween and teenage crowd.)
Choosing a Trampoline
Trampolines come in many sizes and shapes, and some have special features, including an enclosure net for added safety. Popular brands of kids trampolines include ActivPlay and the 7 ft My First Trampoline. Propel and Skywalker trampolines are popular with kids of all ages.
Before you start shopping, take some measurements of the area where you’ll put the backyard trampoline, or wherever you'll place it. If you’re looking at round trampolines, the size is typically measured in diameter, or the measurement across the center of the circle. Fairly standard sizes include 12 and 15 ft trampolines, while mini trampolines are of course, much smaller. For a good safety enclosure, plan to leave at least five feet of clearance on all sides of the trampoline and about thirty feet of clearance above the trampoline. Because you need a fairly large space, you’re most likely looking at outdoor trampolines. And of course, don't forget the safety net and consider a safety pad around the perimeter for added protection. Indoor trampolines are available but are typically smaller in size. Wherever indoor our outdoor, round, rectangular or oval, trampolines are pure fun.
In terms of shape, round trampolines are the most common. The springs on round trampolines are consistent and they naturally redirect the jumper toward the middle. An octagonal, oval or rectangular trampoline allows for a bigger jumping area. Another benefit of rectangle trampolines: add a basketball hoop and see who'll shoot the highest dunk shots! With bigger jumping areas, jumpers will need to put a bit more effort into bouncing high and have more space to move and play games like dodgeball. But don't worry: most trampolines are heavy duty and sturdy in terms of construction and come with safety nets, regardless the shape.
Trampolines With Enclosures
Trampolines enclosures increase the safety for the jumpers. Enclosures are designed to keep jumpers safely inside the trampoline while they’re jumping and playing. Trampoline enclosures are typically made of mesh and they surround the entire trampoline area. Another good add-on is a trampoline ladder, which provides a safe entrance and exit from the trampoline surface. Looking for other ways to add some fun to your backyard?
