Piczel Video Temperature Alert
About this item
Peace of mind while you are away
The Piczel Video Temp Alert adds the temperature of a monitored area to the video of a CCTV camera. When used with a newer model DVR (like the Piczel 5208, 5216, or 5190) you can see the current temperature of your home, vacation home, office, or specific equipment at your business from a PC or Smartphone. Walk in refrigerators and freezers can also be monitored with the included temperature probe. The area where the temperature is being monitored does not have to be associated with what the camera is viewing, in effect, adding another channel to your DVR system. No need to wait for an alarm, you can see what the current temperature is whenever you wish.
Receive an alert when there is a problem
The Video Temp Alert will trigger a normally open or normally closed alarm contact on a properly equipped DVR (like the models listed above) and send you an e-mail or text message alert when there is a problem. Simply set the high and low temperatures you determine in one of the user friendly menus. The alarm contact will trigger whenever the temperature rises above, or falls below your settings.
Works with any standard CCTV system
A typical installation is to place the unit between a camera and a channel input on an internet ready DVR. The Video Temp Alert can be located near the camera, or close to the DVR. All that is necessary is that you loop the video through the BNC connectors on the unit (a BNC-BNC patch cable is also included in the box), and plug the 12VDC power adapter into an AC outlet. A temperature sensor at the end of a 10' cable is included and normally installed in the room, refrigerator, freezer, or area that falls within the operational range of the included probe (0° F ~ 180° F). The length of temperature probe can be extended to reach areas further away from the unit, or cut shorter if desired. The three switches on the front panel guide you through the menus and settings which include: High Temp Value, Low Temp Value, Deg C / Deg F, Alarm Output NC/NO, Move Temp Display on Screen, Screen Saver Mode (temp display moves on screen arbitrarily), and Calibration Mode (adjusts for any differences caused by extending the temperature probe wiring, or to match the readings of other devices being used).
