Total control over 16 cameras with the latest technology
This sixteen channel pentaplex DVR incorporates the latest dual stream H.264 video codec technology. Up to four times more video is stored on the same size hard drive as previous models. Piczel's dual stream video processing records the highest quality video possible to the hard drive while adjusting the image compression to optimize the DVR's Internet transmission speed. Catch all of the action with global recording speeds up to 480 ips (30 ips per channel). Smartphone monitoring, e-mail with images, SMS text messaging with an image, or standard text only alarm notification messages provide maximum access and connectivity while you are on the move. Four cameras can be viewed at the same time using Internet Explorer from any PC, or all 16 cameras can be viewed on your computer screen at the same time using the included client software. The included Central Monitoring Station (CMS) Software gives you the ability to monitor four channels at a time from this system, but you can add up to 60 more camera views on one PC screen with video streaming from multiple DVRs from the Piczel 5200 series, and 7200 series systems. Eight external alarm contact inputs add to the flexibility of how events are recorded and alarm e-mail notifications are sent, including the all new Piczel Video Temp Alert (Sam's # 244398). This exclusive accessory displays the temperature of your home or business's monitored area on a cameras video, and triggers your DVR's e-mail feature when there is a problem with heating, cooling, refrigeration units, etc.

Selectable grid video motion detection
Video motion detection can be set to record activity to the hard drive, log the event in a list to simplify searches at a future date, and send an e-mail with an attached image of what just happened. To make the video motion detection more accurate and useful, a 13 column by 10 row grid of squares is displayed over each camera view during the motion detection setup process (see the included graphic with the product photos). With 130 small squares superimposed on a camera's view, you can select each square that you choose to be active, triggering an alarm event when there is activity in front of the square. By the same process, you can deactivate any square that lies in an area of known activity that would cause a false alarm, such as a pathway for a pet, or a public access area.

Intuitive menus and controls
Colorful on-screen graphics and descriptive icons make navigation of the menus and control of the DVR very intuitive and easy to use. A PC type mouse allows you to quickly click and drag over schedules, motion detection grids, and on-screen DVR controls. An IR remote control is also included for ease of operation. Pentaplex capability allows you to view live video, record all channels, play back selected channels, connect via the Internet, and back up a file all at the same time. Motorized Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) cameras, such as the Piczel 3505 (Sam's # 248586), can be controlled with the mouse, IR remote, PC, or via free mobile phone apps. Timed, motion detection, and "NO" recording can be scheduled for any hour of any day for each camera, giving you total control over what to record, and when. Back up or copy video files quickly to a flash drive via a USB 2.0 port, or to a PC via the Internet. Generate your own private password to access all data and functions, or user passwords that offer limited access.

Event searches made easy
Database like storage of video files make retrieval of events a snap. Drill down your searches by date, time, camera, and event type to quickly find the information you are looking for. Play the event or click on to save your selected video to a flash (thumb) drive. While reviewing events from the DVR via the Internet, you can easily save the data file to your computer. You can also take a quick snapshot or record live streaming to your PC as you see it happen! Alpha-numeric on-screen titles, up to 8 characters, can be generated for each channel making identification of the source location much easier, particularly if the powerful 64 channel CMS software is in use. Individual adjustments for each channel for; chroma, hue, contrast, and brightness allow you to use cameras of various ages, and with a variety of video output attributes, and still balance them on the multiple view screen to make them appear very similar. Image quality and record frame rate can also be adjusted for each channel allowing you to maximize your hard drive space by allocating more resources where needed, and less for camera views that don't require fine details and a fast frame rate.
