Business Membership Rules
Membership: Membership is subject to any and all rules adopted by Sam's Club, and these rules may be amended from time to time without notice to or consent by the Member. Sales tax will be charged on Membership where applicable. Memberships may be terminated at Sam's Club discretion. Children and two other guests are welcome in Club, but only Members can make purchases at Sam's Club.
Membership cards: Your Membership card is valid at all Sam's Club locations. Please show your card when entering a Sam's Club and when checking out at a register. Report a lost or stolen card to your local Sam's Club Membership Desk. A $35 annual Business Membership includes three cards. A personal card for you and a card for a household member over 18 years of age (non-transferable) and a company card.
Company Card: send your employees to shop for you. Purchases are restricted to company check. Company cards are transferable. You can pick up Membership cards at your closest Sam's Club. Before processing your Business Membership card, you will be asked to show your driverâs license or State Photo ID, along with proof of business qualifications (i.e., retail merchant certificate, govât issued license, occupancy permit, etc).
Additional Cardholders: Business Members are eligible to sponsor eight people on their Business Membership. Each Add-on card is $35 a year (plus sales tax if applicable) and Business Add-on memberships also includes a card for a household member of 18 years of age. Add-on cardholder must pick up Membership cards at the Sam's Club location of their choice. Add-on membership cards are non-transferable and before issuance member will be asked to show driverâs license or a state issued photo ID.
Membership Renewal: The Primary Member must authorize renewal or cardholder changes, including additions or deletions, and is responsible for the account. Members receive a renewal notice by mail (unless you are set up with automatic renewal on Sam's Club Credit). You may renew the Membership by mail, at any Sam's Club, or online at SamsClub.com. Renewal within 60 days of your expiration date extends Membership for 12 months from the expiration date. Renewal after that point is in Sam's Club sole discretion and extends Membership for 12 months from the renewal. See Sam's Club rules for details. Members with Sam's Club Credit will be billed automatically for renewal unless otherwise specified. New card(s) will not be issued at renewal unless you upgrade your membership to Sam's Club Business Plus. Please keep your current card.
Shopping online with Sam's Club: When shopping online with SamsClub.com, purchases must be paid for using Sam's Club Credit, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover Card. Title to all merchandise passes to the member at the time of payment. Thereafter the Member bears the risk of loss for such merchandise except for willful or negligent acts of Sam's Club or its associates.
The Primary Member will not be held responsible for additional cardholder transactions.
Shopping at your local Sam's Club: When shopping at your local Sam's Club, purchases must be paid for with Sam's Club Credit, MasterCard, cash, authorized check, or Discover Card. All checks must be issued on a Memberâs or agentâs checking account, with the name of the Member or agent preprinted on the check. Any exceptions to check cashing rules must be pre-approved in writing by the Warehouse Manager.
Receipts: To ensure that you are charged correctly for the merchandise you have selected, you will be requested to show your receipt when exiting.
There is a service charge for insufficient funds (NSF) check returns. Members issuing fraudulent checks are subject to Membership revocation and prosecution. Title to all merchandise passes to the Member at the time of payment. Thereafter the Member bears the risk of loss for such merchandise except for willful or negligent acts of Sam's Club or its associates. The Primary Member will not be held responsible for additional cardholder transactions.
Use of Resale Or Transaction Of Privilege Tax License: It is the Memberâs responsibility to declare, at the point of sale, merchandise that is being purchased for resale or otherwise tax exempt. The member must identify such items during the online checkout process or to the cashier in the local Sam's Club location.
The Member agrees that in the failure to pay such tax, Member will hold Sam's Club harmless from and indemnify Sam's Club against any claim loss or expense occasioned by such nonpayment, and that their Membership in Sam's Club will be subject to immediate forfeiture.
In the event any taxable property purchased without tax is used for any purpose other than retention, demonstration or display while holding it for sale in the regular course of business, it is understood that the Member is required by the Sales and Use Tax Law to report and pay tax, measured by the purchase price of such property or other authorized amount. To obtain tax-exempt purchasing privileges, a valid Sales or Use Tax License (or photocopy thereof) must be presented with application for Membership, and appropriate state form, if applicable.
