Sam’s Club’s high quality standards ensure that our members are purchasing the freshest, safest, and cleanest U.S. farm-raised catfish available in the industry. Our suppliers exceed standards for food safety and environmental sustainability due to their dedicated, trained staffs being involved in all phases of their operations. Their state of the art facilities, which are HACCP certified and USDA inspected, are the first in the industry to be certified according to Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP), which are based on standards established by the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA). Samples are taken from each of the ponds and inspected for flavor, texture and quality numerous times before harvesting and processing. This strict sampling procedure ensures that our fish are “on flavor” and the best quality. The catfish are sent from the farms to the processing facility and packaged in less than one hour. Now that’s fresh!
