This particular printer required photo ink to run any print job.  Twice I purchased what I thought was just the photo ink and was disappointed.  I finally gave in and purchased all the colors to get my printer working again.

I always buy HP INK the original Ink is always better than substitutes that smear at times.  I'd say this pack of XL'S is a good thing. Because they last twice as long as the Regular size Packs.

HP 564XL Pack

The product met expectations. The ordering process was quick and easy and well organized. Product delivery exceeded expectations arriving several days ahead of schedule. Overall a very positive experience.

This combo pack works great in my Photosmart Premium printer. Be sure you check your printer ink slots. If you have only four, this black cartridge won't work.
My Premium Printer has FIVE slots. Four narrow slots: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Photo Black (the cartridge included in this set) and one wider slot for the regular black printer ink.
A four slot printer does NOT use the 564XL photo black ink.
That said, this is a great value. Not sure how long the carts will last, but I've been using my new printer for about a month and a half and have only just replaced the regular black ink cartridge. I'm still printing with the photo inks. The "starter" carts have much less ink than these.
Love my printer and love the photos I print, very nearly photo store quality when using photo paper.
Pricing is great when compared to other office stores such as Best Buy or Office Depot.

Black Ink Confusion

4 cartridges - only 3 worked in printer.  Blk should have been larger - wasted $ and time. One of the bad things about buying online and not being able to actually see what you're buying

Guess 3 out of 4 ain't bad?

Ink cartridges arrived earlier than expected. Read that these don't print the 750 pages, but we'll see. Purchased because the cheaper brands that fit my printer did not last as long as HP cartridges.

HP Ink XL

The black cartridge does did not work in our printer.  Color was fine.   Online no indication the black cartridge may not fit, it was in fine print on package.

Beware of size of black cartridge, may not fit

this is the # that the manufacture recomends  for my printer yet all the color cartriges
 fit and work but the black does not..... so this will not print pretty pictures as advertised!!!!

3 for price of 4

The black ink cartridge is "damaged or defective," so I have to return it to my nearest store. Very disappointed because I ordered online to save time. I needed it for a project deadline, & ended up printing in blue ink and not printing all material due to the black ink not being usable. So, I ended up not getting to use it when needed & have to make a trip to the store anyway to return & repurchase a new one.

Disappointed

Upon receiving package I suspected something was wrong. I installed the three color carts as the ink was low on them. I examined the black cartridge and wondered why was it as small in size as the color ones. My original black ink cart in my printer was twice the size. So after a couple weeks I went to install the new black cart marked 564XL and it didn't fit in the black cart slot in printer. Turns out this cart was labeled wrong by HP! The end of the cartridges only fit in a certain way.  Black ones have a tab ‘T' shaped facing down.. The black cart received has a tab ‘T' facing up like the color cartridges do. I called Sams Club online twice with no satisfaction. Was told back office would take care of it whatever that is?
Returning cartridges to local Sams Club and arguing my case.
