HP 15.6 NOTEBOOK INTEL CORE I7-5500U

I got this laptop on black Friday special and saved 300 hundred bucks. I threw quite a few things at it within the first few hours and it handled beautifully. Best purchase this and next year I suspect. The packaging was somewhat minimal, and the guides/manuals where kept to a few pages. Neither of these are really even a problem for me considering the quality, build, hardware and price factored into this laptop. For homework, I edited several audio files, captions and pictures into a composed video for a college presentation. I had about 30 pictures, and 10 captions, with all my audio tracks compiled into one, overlaid onto said visual medium all done with free software available online and done with this very laptop. It compiled the entire video within app. a minute or two, with relative ease. It took about 3 hours to complete the entire video from writing, recording, music editing to video editing and I had absolutely no issues with this laptop. I had literally pulled it out of the box, downloaded my favorite programs and started working such ease, that I actually enjoyed coming to my computer again! Its a real power house at an affordable price. The back lit keyboard is BRIGHT, and the battery life is awesome. My battery dropped about 30 percent during the 3 hours I was furiously browsing, and editing. I also tried out the USB 3.0 port, and was able to copy 6 gigs worth of files in about a minute and 20 seconds, which is totally awesome by my standards. I can already tell that this laptop will handle my engineering programs well, Autocad being among those programs. Also, the hard drive isn't directly accessibly yet (although I'm sure there will be youtube videos in the future for those of you wishing to implement SSD, as I hoped to do so). The battery is also removable, and replaceable, not internal, so there might be potential for an extended battery pack in the future for those of you seeking that option. The IPS display is nice, fairly bright, and can dim down low enough to work comfortably in the dark with out straining ones eyes.
The recharge time on the battery is app. 1.5 to two hours from about 5 percent, can run advertised up to 5.5 hours, and in my opinion from the work I did with the dimmed screen, headphones, and a few multitasking programs running, I'd estimate about 6 to 7 hours under the right conditions, maybe more. The CD drive is a nice feature for artists and many others wishing to share their work and data in an immediately playable format. As for this laptop, that's about all the information I have so far folks. Hope it helps!

i7, 12 gbs of ram!?? Awesome black friday deal!

If you can purchase one of these, I highly recommend it.
There is a lot to like:
1. Lots of RAM, 12GB in two slots, 8 and 4 DIMMs. Expandable to 16GB.
2. Lots of storage, 1 TB Hard Drive.
3. Excellent processor, Intel i7
4. Thin and light.
5. Excellent HD display.
6. Backlit Keyboard.
7. Smoking fast wireless, with 5G AC.
8. Great sound with B&0 speakers
9. Solid build and construction.
10. Built-in optical drive, many don't have this now.

This laptop has all of the features I wanted, at a great price. Highly recommended!

I specifications of the product given are very high compared to the laptop products available in the market, this is the cheapest price I can find in the online and till now the laptop is working wonderfully well.

It is easy set-up and use.
I used windows 8 - 10 is easier to setup and run.

This is my first HP laptop and so far I'm very pleased. It has a powerhouse of a processor, with enough RAM to multi-task or power through. Sometimes the added HP software is helpful, but it's usually just in the way.

Without buttons, the touchpad is difficult to adjust to. Some of the built in tricks help, but not entirely.

Pros:
-Very powerful
-Back lit keyboard
-Great battery life
-Thin and light
-Bright HD screen

Cons:
-Lots of hardware settings that are annoying to change
-Very few BIOS options
-Back light on keyboard isn't automatic
-HP touchpad

Sleek, powerful, and fully loaded

I purchased the laptop on black friday deal and enjoying it from day1. It has solid config of 12GB RAM, 1GB with corei7 Windows10. Below are pros and cons that i found with the laptop.

Pros:
1.Super fast, it takes less than 20 secs to boot the system.
2. Backlit keyboard is nice.
3. Sound quality is superb.

Cons:
1.Battery backup is poor, it has shorter battery life of 2.5-3hr max as compare to all other laptop in same segment.

2. Since it doesn't have any additional graphics card so you can't play high resolution games.

3. Camera quality is also average.

Overall I like it and recommend to others as well.

Excellent laptop at Best price on Black Friday

First one arrived doa, sams very promptly replaced the defective laptop. New one is a great bargain at the black Friday price. I only have 2 complaints: 1) the description claimed this had a back-lit keyboard (some of the reveiws also claimed this), mine does not, 2) for some eason my nework connection keeps dropping internet access & I have to manually switch to another network, then switch back (this is just slightly annoying, but I am still trying to adjust settings, so it may not be a harware problem).

SO FAR SO GOOD

Excellent power specs ... seems pretty sturdy. Compares very well with competition in terms of value, features and horsepower. After about a month, no regrets.

Good value!

After 2 months of use, the laptop kept freezing and restarting. It is under warranty, but it is so frustrating. I now have to mail to HP for them to try and fix. Then will need to reload everything and recover files. Also, when it did work the touch pad is very hard to use. I have used laptops for 20 years and the touch pad on this one functioned worse then any previous laptops.
