Made of light, durable polyethylene, this unit can setup easily but take mother nature’s abuse. The ribbed design reinforces the structure while helping with aeration and making the whole unit more attractive, something you won’t find in low quality panel-designed compost bins. Aeration holes are located around the outside and help to speed up aeration but are too small for rodents and other animals to get through. Both the top lid and lower access hatch are large with easy-to-grip hand holds for convenient access. The whole unit ships conveniently in two interlocking pieces. Setup takes about 5 minutes and is as simple as using a few fasteners to secure the top to the bottom. You can also configure which side the bottom hatch is on to customize your setup.

The Standing Bin comes in reprocessed black and forest green, two rich, dark colors that will absorb the sun’s light and heat and still look lovely in your backyard. Operation is straightforward: keep adding material as you wish or until the bin is full. Then let gravity do most of the work. You’ll still need to aerate it at intervals (a few times a week depending on your location and conditions) and monitor temperatures to ensure a quick turn over.
