Directions: Use the largest yellow or white onion you can findBall shaped onions will cut the best. (Sweet onions do not flower as well)Cut off 3/4"- 1" of the top of the onion. Peel off layers of skin. Keep root intact.Separate the petals by handMake your favorite batter wash (consistency should be like buttermilk or thin pancake batter) and submerge the onion into the batter making sure it gets between all petals
Slowly lower your cut onion into 375° oil placing onion root side upCook appx. 1 1/2 minutes, then flip the onion over and fry an additional 1 1/2 - 2 minutesAllow onion to drainRemove the coreOnion will open into a delicious deep fried flower Serve with your favorite dipping sauce in the center of the onionImportant Note: Cooking time will vary depending on the size of the onion
