Copy and Multipurpose Paper

Having printed copies of documents is still important, and Sam’s Club has all the copy and multipurpose paper you could want. It’s important to choose the right paper for the job. Is copy paper the same as printer paper?

While you can use copy paper in your printer, copy paper is typically thinner. It's fine to use copy paper for drafts or home office tasks. But if you want high-quality printouts for work, go for printer paper.

Paper Brightness

Manufacturers assign a brightness rating ranging from 0 to 100—where 100 counts for the brightest and whitest options. Paper Weight/Thickness

An easy way of determining the “feel” of a sheet of printer paper is to check its weight. Paper weight (measured in pounds) refers to the combined weight of 500 sheets. 

What is the thinnest copy paper? 

Sometimes you can find 17-lb paper, but more commonly, 20-lb paper is the thinnest. 

What is the thickest paper I can use with my printer?

It depends on your printer. Many printers will be just fine with thicker papers such as cardstock and photo paper, but you should check the manual for your printer before you use anything that's very thick.
