When you wear Rwanda “Beads of Hope,” you empower women. You give hope to their children and their community. And you give them a chance for a better education and a brighter future! Rwanda “Beads of Hope” was created to provide the women of Rwanda an opportunity to earn an income by using an old Rwandan traditional skill of bead weaving and crochet. Rwanda, known as the Land of a Thousand Hills, is a landlocked impoverished African country that still lives in the shadows of the 1994 genocide that killed an estimated 800,000 in 100 days. Rwanda lost as much as 20% of its total population. In the aftermath, a large percentage of Rwanda’s population were women; the majority being widows, victims of rape and HIV/AIDS; destitute with no hope for the future.

Rwanda “Beads of Hope” was created to provide the women of Rwanda an opportunity to earn an income by using an old Rwandan traditional skill of bead weaving and crochet. This unique and artistic “Beads of Hope” collection is made of intricately hand crochet glass seed bead bracelets; all handmade by the victims of the genocide. When you wear Rwanda “Beads of Hope,” you empower women. You give hope to their children and their community. And you give them a chance for a better education and a brighter future.
