Substitution to pots will be made based on availability. CANCELATIONS MUST BE MADE WITHIN 48 HOURS OF DATE/TIME YOU PLACED YOUR ORDER. To assure optimum freshness, different varieties may be substituted based on availability. In making substitutions, we take great care to ensure that we exceed your expectations, and that you will be satisfied with the flower quality and performance.
Flower Care and Conditioning:
Watering: The best way to determine if watering is needed is to insert a finger into the growing medium and feel for dryness. To avoid over watering, we suggest sprinkling 3 to 4 oz. of water around the top of the medium every 3 to 4 days under normal home or office condition; or just add 5 – 6 ice cubes on top of the growing media once a week. The ice cubes will slowly release over time – avoid over watering. If home conditions are dry, mist the plant in the morning and make sure that the room has good air circulation. When watering a phalaenopsis, keep the growing medium evenly moist and water every 3-7 days. Phalaenopsis is in a bud; do not allow the medium to be totally dried out. A good rule of thumb is to water or mist your orchid in the morning.
Light: Phalaenopsis needs sufficiently bright, indirect light, but avoid direct sunlight.
Temperature: Normal home temperature, approximately 65-90° F. Keep away from draft and note that a sudden change in temperature may cause buds blasting and flowers dropping.
Feeding: For easy feeding, use Throw & Grow – time release plant food 23-4-8 once to twice a year. By doing this, you will provide your orchid with continuous and regular feeding every time you water; Caution: Always water orchids prior to applying fertilizer.
Repotting: Orchids prefer under potting to over potting. When the growing medium breaks down, or when the plant is overgrown it is time to repot. For easy care, use coconut husk chips to provide long lasting excellent drainage and to maintain moisture. This coconut husk chip media can last up to 4-5 years compared to the traditional orchid bark mix or sphagnum moss which only lasts 6 months – 2 years. Please remember to firm the growing medium around the edge of the pot by applying gentle pressure with your fingers.
Severe Weather Alert: Excessive exposure to cold temperature can be damaging to live plants. You will be notified by e-mail within 72 hours if your orders need to be held.
Delivery dates and prices fluctuate with seasonal availability and demand. Although your order takes 7 days to process, we suggest you place the order from 10 to 45 days in advance. Since flowers are perishable and affected by weather, please have someone present to receive the flowers between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon if you live in a metropolitan area or 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. if you live in a suburban or rural area. This will ensure that your flowers are not left at the doorstep or sent back for next day delivery. This product ships to the 48 contiguous states, Alaska and Hawaii. NO deliveries to Puerto Rico. If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with the product freshness delivered, please notify us as soon as you receive your plants to request a possible replacement or refund. Plant replacements will only be provided if the plants arrive in poor condition. Refunds will not be given for circumstances resulting from negligence. There must be someone to receive your plants as the shipping company will require a signature for delivery. For replacements, please contact us immediately as there will be a cut-off time with the shipping company for overnight delivery. If your replacement is to arrive on a Saturday, there are some instances that your particular area will not be covered by Saturday delivery and we will not be able to replace your plants.
