24 Gallon-Per-Day RO Membrane
It's like having a bottled water treatment plant in you home. RO systems require routine maintenance in order to ensure consistent, high-quality drinking water for you and your family. Typical maintenance requires replacement of the pre- and post-filters, either every six months or annually. This includes the sediment and carbon pre-filtration, as well as any carbon post filtration. The exact type of pre- and post-filtration will vary depending upon the individual system and how many stages the system has. Typical RO systems come in either a four-stage or five-stage filtration set up. The RO membrane does not require an annual change-out, but must be serviced properly in order to ensure proper operation of the system. The RO membrane is the critical filtration component of the home RO system and must be changed out periodically in order to ensure RO quality water. Materials such as hardness, high iron and chlorine can severely damage the RO membrane and cause it to fail. Water systems and home wells that have high iron, hardness or elevated levels of chlorine or chloramines may have early damage to the RO membrane that may cause it to need replacement annually. This universal replacement RO membrane unit utilizes Dow Filmtec membrane sheeting in an economical replacement membrane. This 24 gallon-per-day production membrane will fit most standard RO systems. It reduces arsenic, barium, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, radium, selenium, salinity, TDS and turbidity. The high-production, thin film membrane filters impurities down to 1/10,000 of a micron. Depending upon your water quality, some membranes will need to be replaced annually. Typical life is one to three years for the RO membrane.
