Member's Mark Mild Italian Ground Sausage comes in two convenient 16-ounce trays and is made with quality cuts of pork and savory seasonings. The meat is already seasoned so you can incorporate them into breakfast patties, lasagna, meatloaf, casseroles or your favorite pasta sauce. It's a quick fix and creates a tasty meal for busy weeknights!

Italian Sausage Soup Recipe

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 cup diced yellow onion
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 3 cups small yellow or red potatoes
  • 1 bundle kale
  • 1 lb. Member’s Mark (MM) Ground Mild Italian Sausage

Dice onion, cut potatoes into 1” pieces. Wash kale and cut leaves away from stems. Discard stems. Roughly chop or tear into smaller bite size pieces.

In a soup kettle or an enameled cast iron 5-7 quart Dutch oven, heat 2 tbsp of olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté for 5-7 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 more minutes.

Next, add Member's Mark (MM) Ground Mild Italian Sausage. Brown in pan, breaking into bite size pieces. About 10-12 minutes.

Add chicken broth, potatoes and kale. Bring to a boil. Turn down to simmer and stir. Simmer for 15 min, occasionally stirring until you can pierce a potato with a fork and the kale is wilted.

Top with shaved or grated parmesan cheese and fresh ground pepper. Serve with a loaf of warm crusty bread.

*For an even healthier alternative, chop 2 medium carrots and 2 stalks of celery. Sauté with the onions.

**For a more indulgent soup, replace 2 cups of chicken broth with 2 cups of heavy cream!
